When I heard Motty say that today it almost put a downer on today.


I'm honestly going to kick off at anyone who says we're punching about our weight after 6 years of finishing in the top 10 of the league, entering the champions league, FA Cup final, Carling Cup semi.....

I think its very disrespectful and just plain ignorant that just because we dont have the resources, we shouldnt be able to fight and finshes in the top half of the season and challenge for silverware.

Where are Spurs? Where are Citeh? Where did Villa end up? Where are Newcastle?

Arrrrghghghghghghghghghghghg

Rant over. But **** anyone that says we're punching above our weight. Team work,tactics, management, good football, good quality players will deliver a good team not a team that punches above their weight because they cant pay 90k a week wages or 20million for a player.

Let them say what they like. keeps us off the radar. We're so good at punching above our weight that we do it every year.
 
People always say that. Im not sure if they are saying it because of our finances, or the quality players, but i think we have made it quite clear in the past 5 years that we are NOT punching above our weight.
 

But the senile old [Poor language removed] said the same thing about Fulham.....

And I just thought...hold on, have you seen Hodgson's CV? He's an experienced and well respected manager that has managed across the world....and they're surprised that he's created a good side? Organised, solid at the back, hard to break down.

If it was Redknapp and Spurs in ours or Fulham's position all the media would say "well done, the should be there" same with Citeh.

Why? Because they've spent 50million?

Its wasnt just motty....a lot of the press say the same thing, and the Beeb have been plugging that "plucky Everton" bollocks for years.

Even the Moyes Inside Sport interview was mared by the "its amazing they've done so well....I mean....they cant afford 4 £20million players on 50k a week, and they're in the top end of the toughest league in the world for 6-years? Crazy!"
 
Let them say whatever they want, I wouldn't want to switch with anyone outside the top four. Only because the likes of City, Spurs and that Championship side are able to pay enormous (mostly ridiculous) wages to their players, doesn't mean they're better than us. Let them prove what a big club they are with their wage bill, I'd prefer for us to prove it were it matters.(y)
 

It seems we will never get the credit we deserve from some in the media.
Each year they write us off, and each year we prove them wrong.
If City spend an absolute fortune next year which looks very likely. They will get more credit for a high league position than we will when we spend very little.

What does Stubbs know about football? Lets face it, not much, he supports Tranmere Rovers.
 
Bad melt rant by me like...and we are boss.

But I think we as a team and club are making some great history by proving everyone wrong in the toughest league in the world that is filled with big time charlies, big money players, egos and wages.

And to say we're punching above our weight against Citeh, Spurs and Villa? For 7 years?

I like being the underdog but FFS cant the media as a whole just say "Everton are one of the best sides in the country" rather than "Oh, havent they done well again? I mean, they shouldnt really be where they are, but they are!"

Bollocks.
 
It is very annoying mate but i try and ignore all this garbage now. Will we ever get the media credit we deserve? No! Will Moyes ever get the credit he deserve's? No! Do you know what, all that matters is that us Evertonians know how good our beloved heroes are.
