Pubs, bars, hotels etc around Bramley Moore

Depends what part of town you're coming from.

It's 1.1 miles from Old Hall Street station to BMD. Already a good few bars/hotels in that part of town and no doubt a few more will spring up once this is fully up and running.
It's further than that. I've walked it from Dale Street and also from the Pier Head in the last couple of years and timed myself. It's a good mile and a half and it takes 30 minutes, a bit longer for slower walkers. Not suggesting it won't become part of the city centre proper within 10 years or so, or that it won't be possible to get to by public transport from the off but it is NOT just over a mile from town. Sorry, that is not correct. Try walking it yourself. As it happens it is exactly the same distance walk I make from Bootle village to Goodison for every home game.

Yep, mate of mine lives down the bottom of Water Street.

I don't dawdle and It took me 30 min to walk from his place to The Titanic., so from the pubs on Dale Street would probably take me 35.

As someone mentioned earlier, the club will really want to capture as much pre/post match spend as they can.

I'd definitely get in a good hour before kick off if they have great service and tellys to watch the earlier game whilst moaning about the line up with your mates.

Old Hall Street to BMD is 1.1 miles. Source is google maps.

It's 1.7 miles from Queens Square, the distance to the Rotunda from Queens Sq is also 1.7 miles.

We've had them in the Fanzone at the back of the Park end for a number of years ( although quite restrictive size wise )
I would imagine they would be 1st in line for licensing at BMD , probably many more too as there looks plenty of space for beer & food stalls plus a decent sized area for entertainment.

Gonna miss the Blue Dragon chippy tho.
I forgot we have a Fanzone !, we’re always legging past on the last minute.

I've just rechecked the distances again and how long Google maps suggests it takes to walk from both Pier Head and Dale Street and what I suggested is correct. It might be that distance from the very end of Old Hall Street, but the problem is there aren't any pubs there. It's not 1.1 miles from what anybody would reasonably call "town". Don't want to get into an argument as if I was 15 years of age. Let's leave it at that. Up The Toffees!!!

Okay, so what you're saying is, I was wrong, it's not 1.1 miles from Old Hall Street station... It's probably 1.2 :D

I'd 'reasonably'call Old Hall Street station town. You can call it what you want.

My Google maps says 1.3 miles and 27 minutes to the Bramley Moore pub. Add another 5 minutes to get to the stadium and that's over half an hour. All the best.

Right, so as I said in my initial reply (paraphrase) 'depending on which part of town you're coming from, it's closer than the Rotunda'. In this instance by 0.5 miles.

I’ve genuinely walked it, in about 20 minutes, including once in January. It was absolutely Baltic, which probably sped things up. It’s a clean walk, you don’t get stuck at lights or anything.
It will eventually merge into the City Centre and the club do have plans to do shuttles back into the City Centre, but the walk isn’t horrendous in my opinion.

One of the old warehouses will definitely be a Wetherspoons.
It all depends on what else opens up in the area, Matchday revenue is huge but not enough to survive on alone.
We don’t have the pull to expect a lot of tourists to come out of town to spend during the week.
Judging us on our previous, I don’t trust us to make the most of this as we should.

Our previous was Bill Kenwright, though. Our present is Farhad Moshiri. That's the difference. He's not getting it built to be a failure. Of that we can be certain. BMD will be a HUGE success on all fronts.
