Pros & Cons of solar power

Get the cables in for electric car charging point while you are at it, and maybe a 10 square 3 core steel wire armor not connected at the fuse board and rolled up outside, you never know what will come in the future.
Plan for me is to prepare for solar (with batteries) now at a lower cost while it's still available/easier done, then get the guts of it (batteries, panels, inverter, etc.) at some point in the (hopefully) near future. It's all tied to money sadly!

But private land, "they make a lot of noise", etc.
Uist had a rule of no one selling their land(s) to corporations or to people who might want to build turbines because of it.

I'm not saying it makes sense, I'm saying it's how people there are.
well, let's start burning tyre's and when the water gets to ankle depth lets remind them who was crying...

I agree but as I said, you're more than free to go there and explain this to said locals, it will not go down well

They were up in arms about the farms off the coast and those aren't impacting their lives, more/closer inland is a no-go.

locals on the Hebrides? what % is unlivable? It's barren, it's worse than tundra.

"I want to look at my wet rocks, and really take in the wonder, sand blasted granite and all the moisture you can appreciate, that's bonnie scotland!"
Yes, more or less. Also people who own property can do what they want with it, even if it's to the detriment to the planet.

Like you live in a house, why is every inch of your roof not covered in solar panels and 100% of your yard in wind generators? Bad human, you, do better.

You can understand their point. The main attraction for living there is the barren isolation.
