Prem quite lucky getting to see how it goes in germany

Yes to an extent but like comparing apples and pears, the testing of every player and official twice a week is very possible in Germany where tests are as extremely plentiful, not the case here - key groups but expanded to essential workers and over 65s, also how accessible here another story.

Important to note even the tests won't always show when a patient positive but asymptomatic, it will in some case (as with the three Cologne staff) but is not reliable in these cases.

Very fit and lean athletes could possibly be more lukely to not show any symptoms at all if they get it too.

There seems to be some efforts to compare us to Germany. It's completely unrealistic. If we had Germany's death numbers, and testing numbers there's a discussion to be had. As it is over 600 people died yesterday. I don't think Germany has had a single day where 600+ people have died.

Edit, Germany's highest single day death toll is 266.

Yes absolutely, chalk and cheese, does noone any favours really.

Have they said what will happen with contracts yet? I know there was talk of them being extended, but I assume that is voluntary on both sides, and either the club or the player could just opt out if they wanted?

Loans would be an issue I would have thought. Could United decide they don't want to extend Henderson's deal at Sheffield United, on the basis they're fighting for league position? Could Sheffield United decide they have no need to extend Besic's loan deal as he doesn't get in their squad and so bring his wages back on to our books even though we've taken on other liabilities in the belief that we wouldn't be paying him, potentially causing financial problems for us?

It's a minefield as far as I can see.

Bang On!
We have approximately 5x the levels of infection across the UK compared to Germany and 4x the numbers of deaths with a population that is circa only 80% of Germany. Any attempt at using Germany as a benchmark or yardstick is at the very least highly disingenuous and nothing more than being totally fraudulent.

Reading an article that says around 1200 contracts end in the lower leagues
