Rather that than wipe out two.

PPG it...new season start end of August/September. Leave the league cup out. Maybe even Europa.
Funniest part about all this restart stuff is just how hilariously bad the games would be.

We haven't played since start of March, teams can't train properly, they'd be rushed back into a restart so they wouldn't be given like a couple of weeks to train again. Sometimes during a season a player loses a family member and might miss a game as their head's not in it. LOADS of players head's won't be in it with foreign family members maybe struggling with all this. It'll be like an even worse level of quality than a pre-season game.

Yep. They'll be like training games/pre season games.

The reason why it wont go to court...etc is things like that can drag on for years, and next season it only 6 or so months away.
So Leeds have a choice, play next season in which ever division or sit the season out while your getting dragged around courts.

The court case will be about money, based on lost revenue no doubt.

So it doesnt matter how long it takes, they might even just take it on the chin, who knows.

But for a court case to be won, there has to be a loser.

I aint entirely sure who or what any football club or anyone come to that, will actually sue.

Unless this germ has a few bob.

Have F1 null and voided their season? Thats a question btw, cos I dont follow tory go-karting.

No, it looks like it will start in July behind closed doors. 2 races at Austria on consecutive weekends and same at Silverstone likely. This means they can stay in one place for a longer period of time and if the mechanics are wearing full PPE to assemble/disassemble it shouldn't be a problem as the drivers don't have to make contact to have a contest.

Relegated clubs and clubs that won't get promotion depending on what happens.

Both would argue what they planned for financially was based on parachute payments that aren't gonna be distributed etc so have lost out financially.

Those clubs will no doubt get some compensation

Different clubs have a different case. If the league don't award the title and don't do relegation, it's hard for them. To achieve promotion it's widely accepted that you have to be mathematically unable to be court by more than 1 team, or win the play offs. They can demonstrate neither of those things. Same as with the title.

Leeds argument would be, that they could have made a decision. Sure they could have, but there is no reason too, particularly if they are consistent. If they start awarding titles though, then it becomes a lot harder to say- "our hands were tied, nothing we could do".

The big caveat in this though, is that this is just the logical, fair conclusion to it. There's no guarantees that 14 teams vote for this. It will not (in all likelihood) but resolved by judges who are aware of the law, but self important CEO's. And ones who I don't think have much real understanding of whats at play here if everything thus far is to base judgement of them on.

But as I say, the court cases arent even the biggest issue, a minor headache.

The TV money, the sponsorship money and the matchday revenue are the biggest issues, they wont be resolving matchday any time soon.

Yes true. Short term panic is motivating people. Cash flow will start to bite come July. I'll be frank, lots of sponsors will be going bust, and the ones that aren't will either be looking to terminate or negotiate down agreements. Most are from the US, and just look at their economy. They are at Great Depression levels of unemployment, which took 3 years to get to in about 6 weeks. Nobody is hanging tens of millions out to English football teams.
