It’s going to be very difficult to pin liability on any organisation due to a global pandemic though. I just don’t see any angle they could go down legally... but I’m not a legal expert at all

I think it will boil down to process and acting within the rules of any given organisation. If they stay within these then there are very few avenues for the clubs to follow hence why null and void with no champions, no relegation's etc should be the default position. Change the rule for one (The RS) it can be argued you should consider or carry out changing the rules for others.

Putting any changes to the vote of its members (the clubs) may hold some water but this would be open to challenge I would of thought on the basis of the different vested interests of each member (i.e. open to abuse and coercion).

Again like you I'm no legal expert but if I was advising the EPL it would be to follow null and void, no champions, no relegation etc.

The french league needs a £200m loan as they think 17 out of 20 clubs will go under.

Grim

Bein only just sold their 2020 to 2024 rights of Ligue 1 to Canal plus for 330 million euros a year so they ll ensure it starts in Aug/Sept ;-) French clubs can use that as guarantee and am sure french football federation will throw cash to poor ones for period ;-) French clubs except PSG have respectable wage bills anyway so a few sales can soften the blow

I'm not convinced we'll see as many cases of legal action as people seem to suggest. I'm not convinced courts would side with clubs in these circumstances either.

There is no precedent for this.

I suspect if you’re relegated before the season is over , when you could mathematically be safe you’ve possibly got a case .

Midlands has been mooted, take them an hour or two to get there

You think big Red are playing by the rules? They'll write books about soaking up the atmosphere of the title win outside The King Power while driving home to empty streets

They will won't they?

I can imagine sky lapping it up and saying the fans are just too passionate and just couldn't stay away.

There's going to be games without fans I think. I know that angers a lot of people but I just can't see it not happening whether it is to finish this season or start the next.

There's a rumour circulating that 'one of the options' being mooted is a June 8th restart that would see all the teams, in effect, go into a quarantined hotel environment and localised training schedule from early/middle of May close to and in order to play all the remaining games behind closed doors at St.Georges Park, near Burton-on-Trent.
All games to be televised/streamed live with maybe two or three games per day until this seasons calendar is completed.

And all hotel staff, cleaners etc have also to be quarantined away too. No visits from family for players etc.
Yeah, nice one.
Fresh food delivery drivers quarantined ?
All tv crew and VAR quarantined ?
State of these ideas.
