Previous five managers first 23 games

Interestingly, Silva has the lowest number of points after his first 23 league games out of our previous 5 managers.

Moyes = 23 games - 39 points

Martinez - 23 games - 42 points

Koeman = 23 games - 37 points

Allardyce - 23 games - 34 points

Silva = 23 games - 30 points

Now I know a season isn't 23 games long... but wow. I was someone who wanted Silva in charge, but that's shocking and not good enough - especially considering he has had arguably the best squad. Was gonna post this in the Silva thread but thought it was deserving of its own. Sue me.

Getting the papers together now.

Think the only manager we've appointed from above us is Mike Walker. Kendall came from lowly Blackburn, Lee from Newcastle, Royle from Oldham... We've always had a manager inferiority complex.
We are one of the top team in the Premier League - are we going to poach someone from Man Utd, Liverpool or Man City? And our status is low on the continent, so we are never going to get someone like the Athletico Madrid coach.

I'd argue that Silva has had a bigger job since Moyes in terms of rebuilding.

Matrinez improved over what Moyes left
Koeman improved over what Martinez left
Allardyce salvaged what Koeman left
Silva has overhauled what Koeman and Allardyce left

Allardyce didn't have digne, mina, richarlison, Bernard, gomes or zouma to choose from either

Doesn't factor in Martinez having a blinder first season and dropping like a stone.

Or Moyes managing in a time without billionaire owners funding players.

Would Moyes still get that if he had taken over today? Would Martinez have had such a blinding start with spurs Liverpool forming a top 6?

Migrating factors. Especially given Silva is off the back of Walsh single handedly making Brendan Rogers a transfer geniusn

Yeah but Sam had the same mess to deal with and had us doing better, and without the summer signings

He should be doing slightly better but we are in a transition season. And he hasn't got a better squad in every area has he? The one main area is up front we are miles away from having a Rom type figure up there who you could rely on notching every week. Koeman's flaws were covered by Rom's goals on many occasions.
