Power Shift - Managerial Appointment

Why? Nothing in his track record suggests it - Moyes and Martinez; two young, up and coming managers from the Championship. The anti-Allardyces if you will.

I think this is almost nailed on a 'Steve Walsh Manager' if anything.

I agree it is more Steve Walsh who has pushed this. It is just my opinion that's all, I hear what you say with regard to Moyes and Martinez both being young, (I was thinking about that as I was typing) but for me he went for young as they were cheaper and less likely to makes waves due to budget constraints. Moyes was just a younger Allardyce, all about perspiration and setting the team up to be hard to beat. Over time he was able to get a team to play better football but that was due to having better players who were able to do that, same can be said of Bolton under SA. Bill loves footballing men that he can talk about days gone by in the boys pen, I think the difference is Bill probably has his hand on the pulse a bit more and knows the bad feeling that will be generated by this appointment.

So maybe I should have said imo Bill would be happy to have Sam but would not want to be seen endorsing or to be part of the process in hiring him.

Mate he got 7 points from 8 games, people saying he got 7 from 5 are completely disregarding 3 other games there. It's not good enough and he isn't ready yet, he needs to go cut his teeth in the Championship and people need to take off the blue tinted specs. Could make a case that the team was set up by Sam last night as it looked a completely different team and similar to his tactics. Agree with you on the panic of the board though.
The team was not picked by big sam last night so you are wrong! as is Joey Barton!
Unsworth was asked last night what contact he had over the team selection with big Sam and he stated none on national TV - a 15 minute chat about the squad in general - Unsy picked the team!
Unsworth set the team up different last night in his management to of three home games { including the game he stood in for RM} he has won every home game in the prem he has managed us okish - the experience will have done him good - all I can say is play it again Sam for Saturday, and he had best start winning for the team's sake , the fans sake, and the fact big Sam is on 6 million per year!

Significant amount still think Kenwright is integral, both him and Elstone took all the flak throughout the search for a new manager, as well as for the eventual appointment.

I think so too. Bill provides the connection and knowledge of the club. He is also a very useful shield......Elstone I don’t particularly rate......

Connection?

It's hardly a connection when the majority of fans despise him.

Robert Elstone, well, lets not get started on him.

Oversaw Castleford Tigers being hopeless, then got us a kitbag, chang and sportpesa deal.

Marvellous.
