And the very same people that believe it are perfectly happy with Trump hiring people because their major qualifications for the position are loyalty to Trump and that they look good on tv.

Aye, I'm very familiar with those debates as well as a lot of the research in educational attainment and life chances that strongly indicate where you get to is hugely influenced by your starting social position.

Which of course is very uncomfortable for people who are convinced of their innate excellence.
