Potential cancellation of games - Coronavirus

It doesn't even matter anymore. No one should be giving a flying one about it. Football is not a priority and it never was over life and death. The PL will go to them, but they wont get the chance to savour it. It's not important.
Precisely this. Anyone whinging about a sporting event / concert / anything like that being cancelled is a fool, seems that the death rate % for this virus is quite high and it’s very contagious. Italy saying 1 in 10 need to be in the ICU with it is pretty disturbing

People who want this empty pantomime to continue are just weird.

Take a look around. IT DOESN'T 'KIN MATTER ANYMORE.

culture secretary Oliver Dowden said: "At this stage we're not in the territory of cancelling or postponing events."
He added: "I was at Twickenham [for England v Wales] with the Prime Minister [on Saturday].
"There was a huge crowd of people there. There is no reason why people should not be going to those events.
"It is very premature to be talking about things like that."

I know - clearly they haven’t seen the footage in Wuhan and Italy. To be fair earlier in the outbreak I got caught up in the “it’s not that bad, it’s not that deadly” thing - but recently it’s became apparent that I was wrong, frankly I’m surprised I’m in the office today given my whole office have work from home capabilities

A football match and other sports events PROLONG the time exposed to other people. The match: you;re at least 90 minutes sitting within 2 meters of a lot of people. This thing needs about 15 minutes contact to stand the chance of being passed on generally speaking. Obviously, if you go shopping you stand a lot less risk in that respect, if you're a shopper.

It's just common sense. No sports event is worth one life.
I remember the early days of the Kendall's first stint as manager. You were rarely within two metres of another supporter.

Also, how many people visit Liverpool 1 and the Trafford Centre over a weekend, are they closing too?

Don't know about Liverpool 1, but the Trafford Centre will easily get 100k visitors per day on Saturdays. It's a bigger area than a stadium, and those visitors are spread out over the course of a day, so it's likely less risky than going to a match, but not massively so.

It is massivley less risk: most people at a football game will be within less than half a metre of other people, never mind 2 meters for about 2 hours on matchday. That is a breeding ground for transmission. How many people out shopping will be standing within 2 meters of the same people for more than 5 minutes, nevermind the 15 to 20 minutes said to be the required period of exposure to the virus for it to be transmitted?

You're not in any way qualified to make definitive statements on this. It's a respiratory virus, so, if you speak to people who are actually qualified to give an informed opinion on this ( I'm not one, but I know people who are ), it'll be spread either directly ( via a cough ), or indirectly ( via a contaminated surface ).

At the moment, it's thought that the highest risk of spread is indirect via surfaces, and you'll be exposed to far more surfaces in a shopping centre than at somewhere like Goodison.

I get you're trying to make political capital from this, but you're just making yourself like stupid.

Are you in the medical profession Dave?

I nipped out to my local store this morning, on the way in I saw a young woman coughing into her hand before returning her trolley, and on the way out I had to step away from some spit left by some other caring customer. The point being that some people will never change their behaviour, and so the spread of this virus is inevitable. The Government need to take this more seriously to avoid overloading the NHS in the immediate short-term, while they prepare for a longer term sustained outbreak.

And just put the end of season table in alphabetical order. Would Ev get in CL? Villa would have had an amazing season though.....I never saw that coming lol
They will do that the day after Liverpool have mathematically won the league
