I'd much rather they just cancelled the match than played behind closed doors. The thought of that Monday night derby was being played with nobody in the ground is a joke. Ruins everything that makes the fixture special.

I think we in western society particulary places like the UK that have no killer wildlife, no wars, no natural disasters etc. have become too comfortable and have forgotten that this is exactly life for many people especially in third world nations - you either sit and cry about it or you get up and get on with your life.

Unless you want military on the streets shooting anyone who dares leave their house you aint stopping this thing from spreading. I know a mate whos due to go out to Italy next month as will countless others with holidays booked that will likely still travel around the world - it is not stopping.

If people can get on with their lives when the Nazi's were bombing cities to hell im sure we can do likewise with something thats essentially a slightly worse case of the flu for the majority of the population.

The recovery rate is high if hospital can cope with manageable infectors. That’s the whole idea, keeping the count low so that they won’t be overwhelm. In order to achieve that, every one should do their part on self awareness and discipline. What can you achieve by going around telling people it’s only a flu? With no adequate medical support, the death rate will not be 2%.

China brush it aside, telling its own people to carry on with life as normal. The outcome is beyond control in a matter of weeks. While we haven’t reach that stage yet, it will inevitably move towards that direction if people live like nothing happened. Self sacrifice/discipline at the early stage of outbreak is the best way to combat these virus or we may end up using more draconian steps down the road once the number break past the containment stage. By that time it may be too late and we will look back with regret. If it means stopping mass public event, so be it.

Although personally i find toilet paper uncouth. I simply smear my faeces up my back, lie in the sun and then chip it off with a paintscraper.
