Potential cancellation of games - Coronavirus

Its not just 70 plus year olds - those younger with immune system issues or respiratory issues are at risk too. But either way, its absolutely chilling how easily the media and government have instilled this "you're fine if you're younger" and "it's only the flu" selfish mentality into so many people, which huge amounts just parrot back.
But I suppose those groups dying fits certain elite people's agenda...

Yep absolutely pointless stopping 70 year old's going to the game if say a 50 year old lives with his Dad and still goes.

The leagues priority is people watching on tv, people going to the game after. So I doubt they would cancel the season as there is so much money pouring in from tv revenue.

They will play in empty stadiums and get higher tv numbers too as will all be watching on tv

They just need to relax the broadcasting rules a bit so that its possible to do this for ALL games

Roy Hodgson is 72...does that mean he's banned? Can we ban Siggy because sometimes he looks like he's 70?

No, Hodgson is a sprightly 72 year old and a former professional footballer meaning he is strong enough to pull through. Gylfi on the other hand should be quarantined immediately, in fact the insurance company we have should pay out for him and he can get away from this crisis. This is a persons life we are talking about and we shouldn't be taking any risks... :D

I'm currently spinning the theory that Siggy is actually Patient zero and the virus has left him too weakened to even perform simple passes or make love to his wife.

Its impossible to stop it spreading- the numbers are increasing every day and will continue to do so. As with everything from the common cold to chicken pox it'll pass through the population until its run its course.

Yes people will die but people die everyday of cancer and other illnesses thats life sadly. I think when you look at the actual death rate of Coronavirus i.e. 2% estimated its not like an Ebola situation were its wiping out two thirds of anyone who comes into contact with it - I just dont see the justification at this stage to stop everyday life and everyone to be on lockdown at home.

This is exactly what the Chinese communist thought when it first started and look at them now.

Just a few life lost, no problem, until they realise the whole economy will crumble and people kept dying.

If I was Amazon, I'd be onto the Premier league now sweeping up all these non-televised games that are going to need a platform. It would be win-win for everyone and will hopefully speed up Amazon getting the streaming rights in the future.

That will happen regardless if everyone is on lockdown - whos emptying your bins or building houses etc?

I think we in western society particulary places like the UK that have no killer wildlife, no wars, no natural disasters etc. have become too comfortable and have forgotten that this is exactly life for many people especially in third world nations - you either sit and cry about it or you get up and get on with your life.

Unless you want military on the streets shooting anyone who dares leave their house you aint stopping this thing from spreading. I know a mate whos due to go out to Italy next month as will countless others with holidays booked that will likely still travel around the world - it is not stopping.

If people can get on with their lives when the Nazi's were bombing cities to hell im sure we can do likewise with something thats essentially a slightly worse case of the flu for the majority of the population.
