They made the decision today.

Mad irresponsible from all involved. Even having congested fixture lists at all is irresponsible - you're having 2-3 day turnaround times with no way whatsoever of being certain multiple squads aren't compromised.

Yep good point

I don't know that it is true. The NFL has had a couple of outbreaks and they've found maybe a person or two being irresponsible but largely it is just a widespread virus that is really contagious and people training for sports are close together a lot.

They also have many instances where teams and players were acting irresponsibly and caused outbreaks.

The nfl has fined teams and stripped them of draft picks. Teams are also fining players who put the team at risk.

You people are insane if you think any of these matches are going to be forfeited b/c of COVID.

the Premier League is just like the NFL, way too much money involved. One NFL team had to play a game with out a freaking QB b/c of COVID - games are simply not going to be forfeited.

And we are just hitting the stride of winter right now - if you think this is the only time this is going to affect one of our games this season you're crazy. It'll likely happen to us at some point, and at least one other of our opponents - these postponements will happen more an more frequently as we move on. I'm just amazed it hasn't happened yet
We’re all insane AND crazy? Thanks x

I know this is a great idea to postpone for the health of players, staff etc who are suffering or who may have contracted COVID now, but it's also lucky for us. I was thinking last week that finally results are going our way, and we had all the right results to let us go to 2nd place. Now although it's for serious reasons, it's lucky for us from a playing point of view! can get back some key players hopefully when there's space in the calendar. Hope we are lucky as well as successful this season

...if a number of City players/staff have tested positive, there has to be a possibility that others testing negative also have it. The big risk is transmitting it into our camp.
They could change in their hotel and if the UK virologists aren't telling porkies it's not aerosol spread so taking basic precautions the game could be completed safely.

Yeh they made them play so city should have been made to play their youth team if necessary
That was only because they ran out of time to shoehorn in the game.

In this situation, they have 4 months plus to figure out a way to get the game in. Other NFL games were rescheduled or pushed back, which is what will happen here

also there should be some form of punishment for city. not for the cancellation but for the irresponsible behaviour of the squad to compromise the bubble
All it takes is a players wife to come in to contact with the wrong person at the shops and several people could be affected within days.

It’s quite possible that we could have kicked up a fuss and demanded the game be played, but were quite happy with the postponement tbh. In fact, that’s quite likely.
From the Bbc "Based on strong medical advice the Premier League, in consultation with both clubs, have decided to postpone the fixture."
