Once again played 5 a side thursday at the pits, won 12-1 i think it was, 7th consecutive win and clinched the league with 3 games left, got my weekly goal through the keepers legs so i'm happy

Always up for a friendly with someone if theyre interested *hint hint* *cough grandoldteam cough*

6-3 win for the University College 2nd XI today.

Won 4 from 4 and looking very much like we could grab promotion this season.

Unbelievable considering we'd only won 2 games in the last 2 years before this season.

2-2 Draw yesterday at Eagley FC, who have been around since 1884 apparently.

Cracking game tbh. ref "shouldve given us a pen" according to their parents, but hey ho.... I'll Ref the Return fixture if they like.

'Twas a cold one on the far side of Bolton but not as cold I reckon as our cup game will be in December when we will no doubt have to calm them all down when they realise that we are going to Ramsbottom, a place name like that can bring about hyperventilation for a team of 9/10 year olds.

A 6-1 home win last weekend, my lad got m.o.m. at centre half against a fwd that was about a foot taller.

Cup Match on saturday and a visit to Ramsbottom..... it will be freezing ffs!!

Club meeting with reps of Man Citeh over the weekend who have asked if we will go into partnership with them, be interesting to see what that entails but apparently 1st up they want us to start an u6 team (youngest lads age group) & they want to train the coach/ put them through the badges etc.

Even if it only amounts to odd training sessions for them all it has to be beneficial, and it's something that the older ones team could do with really as the teams that they play against are chocka with kids that go to academies, making our achievements even better really as we are now 5th after playing 5 games, if we win our games in hand then we go top.

Drew 4-4 at the weekend in the local derby against Corpus at the weekend.

Came from 2-0 down to be leading 4-3 but one of their players was refereeing and we basically played well past 90 minutes till they equalised.

Still we're top going into the winter break and promotion is well on the cards.

Finally at the 6th time of asking the game took place in Ramsbottom.

A sluggish tbh 6-2 away win with my lad getting m.o.m. with a Bainesesque performance.

Big league game next week so they'll all have to work them selection boxes off.

Had a tonkin off top of the table, I had a decent game though.

Christmas has been cruel to most of the boys.

I just play 5aside with my mates. I'm utterly **** at it, better at contact sports.
I'd like to play 11aside but I have got literally no talent whatsoever so you know.

Were playing futsal today. Our regular goal keeper wasn't available so a mate started in goal for us and I started the scoring and we went to half time in a comfortable 3-1 lead having wasted a handful of chances we should've really converted from but didn't feel that it was an issue since we were far superior.

Anyway, my mate doesn't really like being in goal so he asked if I could have a go, I mumbled that I haven't really been decent in goal since I dislocated a finger a year ago but sure I'll do it. We ended up losing 3-6.

So with weeks to go to the start of the new season and moving up to 9 a side, 2 players have dropped down 2 divisions to the clubs other team, and now we've lost a player which leaves us with only 8 kids (other team has 15), the lad left as they didnt think we'd get the required players and then it'd be too late to find a team, I agree with what they are saying but that leaves our kids without a team.

Far from happy with the kids club tbh as they have took 2 of our players despite not needing them and left us high and dry, they didn't beat us in 4 attempts last year but it's looking like they want our league place. To cap it all another team has joined the club and we weren't given the option of filling our squad from them. So looking like we may have to try and find another team to join.

Promoted 3 divisions & a Cup Semi in Inaugural Season but high and dry.
