Post transfer window discussion: Rate the Transfer Window

It's very relevent. Purely as a point of comparison.

It would only be relevant if the poll asked to rate this window versus previous windows. It doesn't.

The circumstances are different for each window. We have different goals and constraints. You can't compare the incomings/outgoings window to window in isolation without considering the full context. For example, previous windows we have had tighter financial constraints and may have done well to scrape out a deal for a starting 11 player, versus this window we have/had some funds and failed on our stated primary goal of bringing in a playmaker.

Say next year we get a decent amount of funds for transfers and we only get a couple of squad players. Would that still be a good window because 6 years ago we signed Gueye, Beckford, Mucha etc.

Yep. For me anyway. Fair enough if you think otherwise. We don't all have to agree.

I certainly think people are badly over reacting about this window. But that's my view.

I do understand people's reasons why they may think it was bad, I just don't.

They got relegated because they had crap players, paid low wages and had a net spend of about -10m a year.

The players we signed make me really happy, The Clev is a player, Gezza is a talent, I have big hopes for Mori, L Rod, Holgate, Lennon will do a great job for us, for some reason I cant warm to Hennen. So thats a +1 for each player, bar Hennen.

So that gives the window a running total of +9.

Minus the failure to bring in that 1 special player we needed to actually properly kick on. -8

Thus giving the window an overall score of +1.

We missed out on our No 1 position, brought in no striker and signed Cleverly, Deulofeu and Lennon. Everyone of those 3 refused to go to any other club.
