I was gutted at FT, and have only now been able to bring myself to log onto GOT! Haven't read anything yet so here's my honest opinion on the game...

Well, I think the last couple of minutes just summed up the ups and downs of being a football fan. Went from sheer ecstacy and relief when Joleon slammed in the equaliser to utter dejection. Was absolutely gutted, had only just calmed down from going mental in the pub and they get the winner. Hadn't celebrated a goal so much in ages.

I thought we played really well today, despite the loss I could still hold my head up high walking out at the end, thought we deserved to win.

Hopefully the mistake won't affect Jags' form. It's one mistake in what has otherwise been an immaculate season. Judging from his reaction for the rest of the game if anything it will just fire him up to play even better.

I thought Arteta was excellent today, playing him in a central role is clearly the way forward I think. Some of his set plays are still dodgy, but in terms of an all round performance he did much better today and was back almost to his creative best.

From the glimpses of posts I've seen so far it looks like Cahill has been getting some stick. But I thought he played ok and nearly popped up with a goal first half.

Neville I thought was excellent as usual, and Lescott had a decent game as well, obviously great to see him back on the scoresheet.

Anichebe did alright for me, and was good (?!) to see VDM back in action. Say what you like but if he's fit it's another option in midfield and lord knows we need numbers at the moment.

I just really hope that the boys take pride from how well they played and use it to kick on, instead of thinking about what might have been. Today just summed up what football can do to you. :)

jags has been good this season but i still think lescott in the middle is better imo.

they need to work on jags passing on the training ground. nice lad tho.

despite the defeat & the injuries i feel confident about the rest of the season as we looked like a team, for the second week running too. so we lost a game we could & maybe should have won by gifting the opposition 3 soft goals, but if we can maintain & build on the last too weeks performances we have grounds for optimism.

We'll absolutely stuff Villa at their place if they play like that again, I know we lost but I feel better after that performance, then our scraped wins against Bolton and Fulham. With a decent striker upfront we could really push on for those european spots.

Agreed, but he needs to get his happy glasses off and get his head out his arse.

So I'm not allowed to be happy after a good performance? I was gutted we didn't win, but like others have said it was a very promising performance.

tbh I couldn't give a toss what you think of my opinions, football is not the be all and end all in my life. Grow up.

Rodders I was messing about mate. It was a reference to some of the [Poor language removed] our new friend (Kieth Shabs) was spouting earlier. You did mention that you hadn't read anything else before posting. I should have realised it could be misinterprated in that situation.Genuinely sorry if it came out sounding like I was having a go at you. I honestly wasn't. In fact an earlier post of mine expresses pretty much the same as your opinion. Hope you can take the time to have a look through and see that I wasn't serious

Did you not watch the game?

Osman headed the ball through to Cahill who shot straight at Friedel.

Correct I was about to say that. But overall Cahill hasn't shined this year.

Bruce I agree with every thing you said and it really hurts to see Arteta botch that final pass and Jags doing a stupid back pass. We just can't keep being so sloppy. Mistakes this year are out of control.

i think it's all building towards a cracking 2nd half of the season, the fortunate thing is that our league position still isn't too bad after the start we've had.
