It depends whether the Marco/Brands feel Richarlison is better off up top or on the left.
If up top, we should be looking to go for someone like Zaha - I doubt he’d join though with other clubs sniffing around him and the price would be £60m+.
If on the left we should be going for someone who’s stock is lower after a failed move but has proven quality, or a player who can obviously step up.
Andre Silva, Belotti, Chucky would be obvious options.
Sevilla have an option to buy Silva for €35m which is pennies these days for a goalscorer. 7 goals in 9 matches so far this season for a great side - Sandro went to the same team and wouldn’t have scored 7 goals if he played 100 times for them. Marco seems to have a magic touch with convincing players to join so I think he’s realistic.
Belotti hasn’t had the best 18 months for club or country goalscoring wise - in fairness to him neither his club nor country are great sides these days - but he’s Torino’s captain and at 24 the ability is obviously there. With his stock probably at it’s lowest for a while I can’t see him costing any more than £35m but who knows.
Chucky could be a monster. I think he’ll end up playing at a huge club but because he’s so highly rated the price could be £40-50m for a player that’s never done it in a decent league.
There’s options out there but I’m happy with the business we’ve done recently. Hopefully we can find that missing puzzle piece in our attack.
