i see oviedo starting as a negaive. i think garbutt is better, has a lot more potential, and he's deffo gonna leave

Joel
Coleman Stones Jags Baines
Besic McCarthy
McGeady Barkley Mirallas
Lukaku
Barry in for McCarthy if he's still injured.

Got to start some time and as many think we will lose anyway. I take it you want to keep Jags there or Distin if he is fit. Do we have any alternative to those CBs?

I did say I would e shouted down!!!

Stones and one of Jags or Distin for me. Blooding Galloway and Browning should happen when we're playing someone like QPR while we're already in a comortable position on the table, not when we're playing City and flirting with relegation. Sure, there's a decent chance we will lose, but we need to give ourselves the optimal chance at getting something from the game. There's reasons to be optimistic. No Toure or Aguero and a less-than-convincing defence. Crappier teams have taken points off them and there's no reason we can't do the same if our players show a bit of application.

Positives

Tackles Attempted/Successful

No Offsides

Passing accuracy

Had some shots on target

Late goal

Not getting beat

Robles

Coleman

Oviedo Baby

Besic

Stones

Lukaku

We never once passed out from a goal kick to a defender under pressure

We looked more threatening going forward

Overall I felt we was better team which I haven't felt since god knows when

Colin Harvey was blooded by Harry Catterick at the age of 19 in the European Cup at the San Siro Stadium against Inter Milan.

Not if RM gets to talk to him properly and give him a decent new contract. Got to make it clear to him we are the best club for his future.

Still struggling to see the hype in Barkley, loses possession too many times for a player of his ability. To be fair the team is struggling and there isnt exactly much going forward in a team playing one or no wingers at all, the defence is struggling too as a result of no protection or option from the wings. I guess we just need to build confidence from results.

Personally i would drop barkley and play the following:

Joel
Coleman Jags Stones Baines
Mirallas Mccarthy (if fit) besic Oviedo
Naismith
Lukaku

You could argue that it was Lukaku's best ever game in an Everton shirt, he showed real desire, power and passion last night which has been lacking all season.

I'm not really all that convinced we can get anything against City, they are just too strong, I am just hoping for a good performance and that they don't score too many
Agree!I was deeply troubled by how often an average WH side carved us open.Man City will do more of the same, will hinge on how well they finish.

Robles
coleman stones jags baines
besic mccarthy
miralles barkley oviedo
Rom
I think it will be

Robles
coleman stones jags baines
McCarthy Barry
miralles barkley oviedo
Rom
And I'm OK with that. Barry played well last night and there's an argument that his experience will be necessary. Lets hope last night was the beginning of him playing himself back to form because lets be honest Martinez has him as first name on the teamsheet.

Since when did Barry plsy well last night? He gave the ball away loads of times, was half a yard behind the play so kept fouling people and slowed down most of our decent attacks. Besic outshone him in every single way.
