The way I see it is that we were quite happy to keep going the way we were. It was the bank that forced the issue and refused to let us borrow any more money. Other than sell players below market value how exactly have the club been getting their house in order. Have they addressed the failure to maximise our commercial and marketing revenue, have they got any idea how to resolve the stadium issue? They have done sweet fa. Let's not pretend this is the result of any planned strategy that they have introduced.
Jesus H. Christ.
That's probably relegation material.
The BBC's football correspondent, Phil McNulty, said we had sold him for £12 million. If we look at the last two young england midfielders to be sold in big money deals we have Henderson sold for £20 million and Allen sold for £15 million.
Vellios and Distin respectively.
If you are looking to sell the club to get maximum return on your investment then you pay down your debt by selling your assets. If you can do this and stay in the Premiership you are onto a winner. I think its a fairly safe bet that we can carry on doing this with Moyes as the manager. But you've surely got to address your income streams and see how you can maximise them? I see no real attempt to do this. I see no ambition to progress as a club and that is where I have a big problem with the approach that we are taking. It looks forced upon us and we are just going along with it. I could go on but I think you get the point.Very probably mate. But your talking about different things here. I think they happy to keep plodding along, safe in the knowledge they had access to credit, unfortunately the global meltdawn happened and banks got jittery about 10s of mils of lines of credit. We defo got a kick in the backside 24 months back.
So what do you do you, take remdial action to stay within in your cost base without the need for day to day running credit. Hence the cutting of the wage boll and the letting go of very high earners stratgically, no i dont think its happned by accident.
As for the marketing and stadium stuff, ive posted extensively and cirtically about it in the board thread - there different issues really - from the OP terms of reference
Distin left back?
ugly.
He,s welsh.
Rodwells fee according to Mcnulty is 12m up front rising to 17m.
Yeah you've got me there about Allen being Welsh, still I think its a fair comparison to make. These add ons are all if buts and maybe's though, at the minute all we are guaranteed is £12 million

Well if the add ons are in relation to trophies they win, its near enough a guarantee we will see it. Their attempts at world domination are not going to stop now they have won 1 league title.
Some of our most offensively productive matches saw Distin at left back. Remember Man United and Fulham? Four goals a piece.
