Player Valuation: £70m
The fee from the sale of Jack Rodwell is largely irrelevant to me. What it says to the wider football world is far more worrying.

We've sold all our fixed assets

Then we sold all our fringe players.

After that we got rid of most of our big earners.

Now we're at selling 21yr old full internationals for below market value.

The cupboards are almost bare.

The Kenwright business plan of selling to buy seems to have passed and now we sell to survive. Every club in football knows how risky this is. My biggest fear is clubs now see us as a soft touch who are desperate. Just as we took advantage of Rangers, they will be looking to take advantage of us.

If the past few summer transfer windows is anything to go by this fee will go to the bank and we will be looking at a loan player, my guess being a back up striker.

I can't wait to see how the club play this out?

I feel like our name is in the gutter. Is it just me, biased as I undoubtedly am, or at we now at our lowest point and if so what be rescued from the situation?

Go on then reveal to us all how much he was sold for and what is his true market value.

Id say the club, was in trouble 15 months ago - overshot in a big way on contracts it couldnt afford.

What we have seen is getting the house in order, reduced the ewage bill in a big way. Cleared out some dead wood and looks like the begining of another team cycle.

The BBC's football correspondent, Phil McNulty, said we had sold him for £12 million. If we look at the last two young england midfielders to be sold in big money deals we have Henderson sold for £20 million and Allen sold for £15 million.

So we've been getting our house in order, funny that - I thought it was the Bank doing that.

Our first team is better, the youth squad looks decent, our wages are less and our debt is likely decreased... Seems positive to me.

Squad, what squad?

Somebody tell me what happens if and when Jelavic gets injured, or Baines?

It's horrendous!

I doubt there mutually exclusive mate.

The way I see it is that we were quite happy to keep going the way we were. It was the bank that forced the issue and refused to let us borrow any more money. Other than sell players below market value how exactly have the club been getting their house in order. Have they addressed the failure to maximise our commercial and marketing revenue, have they got any idea how to resolve the stadium issue? They have done sweet fa. Let's not pretend this is the result of any planned strategy that they have introduced.

Jelavic - Naismith, Mcalany, Gueye, Anichebe. We did well enough with Saha not scoring up front previously, why is it the end of the world if we lose a goalscorer and have to take a risk on the youth players?
Baines - Distin and Hibbert have both filled in fine in that position and I would trust them to get us to the next transfer window.

IMO this situation has been here pre Moyes.

Rooney was the real landmark moment, any optimism since has been based on avoiding relegation.

Feel sorry for fans only just realising this.
