Port

Not a fan, tried it a few times for reference during my scotch-swizzling days but, having said that, I doubt what I ever tried was considered great quality as scotch was already dominating my available imbibing budget.

Are you allowed to make your own? Half a glass of red then a measure or so of Brandy? Imagine the scope for finding the perfect blend...
When my sloe gin is ready, I'll be decanting it, and then adding a bottle of port to the sloe berries. It's supposed to be lovely after a few months.

know a few foodies that've been making their own gin for about ten years, parma violets, skittles, star burst, various chilli types. the sweet ones were all so so, but the scotch bonnet sloe gin was bottled madness. In retrospect a straight shot probably wasn't very clever.

I'll be bottling my blackberry vodka at the weekend, it was delicious a month ago so looking forward to it. I'll be putting a bottle of brandy in with the blackberries, as with the sloes.
