Grahams or Taylors Tawny .

In the evening after Xmas dinner we menfolk retire to the back room with a cheese board .
Stilton , Danish Blue , Shropshire Blue ( my fave ) Baked Camembert with Fruits like Grapes & Figs plus Walnuts.

Total chill out time with a few glasses of Tawny port.

I have been on 2 tours of port wine houses in Gaia first one was good, tasted 5 or 6 different ports, but the second was excellent as the guide took us down to parts of the cellars the public do not usually visit and then, as part of the tasting, gave us numerous extra ports to sample. By the time we were finished the table was full of empty glasses. . Nowadays when I have a drink in the house always finish off with a port - have a particular liking for Dows Trademark which I have only found in Sainsbury's (was on offer at £10 last week ).

I'll be bottling my blackberry vodka at the weekend, it was delicious a month ago so looking forward to it. I'll be putting a bottle of brandy in with the blackberries, as with the sloes.

Sounds similar to afinata, or blueberry palinca. The mother in law does it, very nice as a winter warmer.

Leaving my concoctions for another few weeks, as I have mentioned before 4 on the go: BlackBerry Brandy, Plum Rum, Sloe Gin & Sloe Vodka. Hopefully they taste as good as they sound.

Love a port. Drank a ton of it in Lagos, Portugal couple of years ago, including a horribly expensive one they had that was from the year I was born.
