Imagine if we had a younger, untested but talented manager we believed in, or even a left-field appointment. Would we have had any worse league positions? Imagine if the people on their 5 year contracts were getting renewed, or had 5 years of team building. Or if we had bought loads of 19-23 year olds 4 years ago, and they were now a dynamic united team?
It's easy to say in hindsight, but hopefully Moshiri has finished his learning on the job, and understands that 3-5 year plans are really helpful, and a club like Everton cannot transform overnight. Carlo is the young ambitious manager we need to take us forward!
THe stadium has been amazing, hope that this ambition now reflects on the players.

Spurs and Arsenal have gone backwards. Sunderland massively so. City were transferred by their owners more than the stadium.

What miracles are we expecting the stadium to provide?

I don't see your point ,no one is saying it will change the team performance on the pitch ,it is the prestige and pulling power long with decent up to date facilities for the supporters , why most are wanting it to go ahead.

I'd still ask the same questions 7th or 10th. Really not arsed about some 3rd no mark European competition. I've felt for a couple of years now I preferred skint us.

But we’re only including upto when Moshiri came in. So outside of Moyes we had one top half finish under Martinez and one under Royle. If you look at these bottom half seasons most are lower bottom half as well.

That’s why I said that pre Moshiri, apart from the period under Moyes we were a lower bottom half premier league outfit.

Could well have been bankrupt now if not for our new owner, you need someone super rich nowadays, that's the way football is. New ground coming up, Ancelotti, there are some things to be optimistic, but one thing for me, we have to start getting our recruitment right, because it has on the whole been disastrous since the takeover.

If results had all fallen our way yesterday would people still be asking the same questions ?

It was a poor day for us in a game that clearly meant very little, if City lose the CL next weekend then this celebration will have fallen very flat for them then. Things change very quickly in football.

Our season didn't turn on any one game, we have had some very good games and results, we have had some shocking ones that are hard to explain and understand.

Anybody who thought we would go from a team just out of the relegation area to CL in a season and a half does not deal in reality.

The biggest disappointment this season over other seasons regarding getting in the CL was in the past the teams ahead of us never really give us a sniff as they were just better all round and we couldn't get close to them. This season we have been given the opportunity numerous times on a plate against opposition we should beat (We all now what games I'm talking about) with a 6/10 performance. Its not that we expected to get in the CL its more that it was there to be took and the arse fell out of us again, because that's what Everton FC does.

No one is suggesting that? It's just an obvious point in the plus column isn't it. Shiny waterfront stadium.

At the end of the day he's responsible for how the club is run. The fact that we aren't quite sure how hands-on he is is imo symptomatic of how erratic the decision-making appears to be at the club

Why does the period before Moyes matter though? You only look at what happened up to the takeover in ascending order.
