Definitely not. I dont support any behind doors football because its inherently unfair to the home team who have already travelled to the other team. It's also a terrible spectacle. Not to mention there would still be possibly hundreds who have to turn up to administer and stage the game.

In short, it's a ridiculous idea and potentially reckless.

Why would we be expected to play a home game at an empty St James' Park?

The whole idea is ridiculous. But that is just on a whole other level of bizarre.

Social distancing is expected to be in place for the rest of this year (or at least until a vaccine is approved).

So how can competitive football be played while social distancing is in place? Tackling would have to be banned, everyone stood 2 metres from each other at corners (like us under Silva then!) and then you’ve got the issue of players clearing their throats; the games will be played in the summer months so likely to be played in 20 degree plus temperatures which would mean players sweating far more.

I just don’t see how it’s practical

It's obvious we can't finish the league season, perhaps they could instead put their energies into trying to finish the fa cup, less games and still allows the country to see a trophy get lifted if it really is so important for the nations morale.

Becomes even more ridiculous when you consider the potential match day scenario they are talking about!

Mass testing of everyone involved, players, staff, medical personnel, match officials and all media.
Social distancing during travel to matches and in the dressing room before and after games.
Separate tunnels for each team to enter and exit the pitch?

The majority of which all goes right out of the window at the first corner or free kick!

It’s literally because of those cryarses across the park, if City, Spurs, Leicester or anyone else were that far ahead they’d have ended it long before now

it's reprehensible that there is even a discussion about resuming asap, whilst people are still dying from this thing, but just shows how out of touch and greedy the football "business" is these days.

It's also not even about the liberpwell, Leeds and the Celtics of the world, and their respective championships or promotions - give them the league/promote them, whatever, it's tainted anyway! it's all about the teams who would potentially be relegated due these stupid ideas - PPG, behind closed doors etc. They are all nonsense and a rigged deck, they are nothing like the parts of the season that have already been played - it's like comparing apples and umbrellas, and calling them the same thing!

Bloody FIFA are now even suggesting allowing 5 subs a game so that they can get through all the fixtures in time?!?! How is that fair compared to what has gone before?! If we had 5 subs available from the start of the season, I'm sure siggy would have been dragged off after about 10 mins in most games he's "played"?!

Football should only return when it's safe for every clubs fans/players/officials/support staff, to go to their own stadiums, at full capacity, exactly as it was before - there should be no other options being thought about.

The covid tests are only 70% accurate as well. So there is a reasonable chance that a player could test negative yet have the virus, thus passing it on to other players at the first corner
