Neiler

Player Valuation: £100m
Just a quick, pointless and hypothetical question. In selling AJ we have sold a senior striker, given Moyes comments toward the end of the season about McFadden and his wish not to sell AJ all being well, you would assume that a striker might be on his hitlist.

I know we've been linked with Milito and Bent, personaly i would love Bent and know very little of Militio but not keen on his age.

My question is this, assuming that we do go for a striker, who apart from these two would you like to see us go for if both were unavailable, lets say we have the 12mill we got from AJ.

to late in the day to be a surprise id say , english clubs ( spurs/bent) arent going to let anymore go this near to season starting .
although MR LOVE step forward i would piss my panties if he came here

Bent i would assume is a non starter given they just cashed in on Keane i wouldnt know who to bring in now

Kevin Campbell still playing?

Ebanks-Blake or Toto Tamuz, pacy young strikers with lots of potential.

I think we'll line up in a 4-5-1 system for the majority of the season so we really don't need an expensive striker who could very well be sat on the bench. I younger striker wouldn't mind sitting on the bench, playing his fair share of games and developing from Yakubu.

If the signings don't work out or the players aren't ready yet we always have Vaughan who in my opinion will properly break through this season. The boys a class act and I'd trust him alongside Yakubu, hopefully he gets himself a full pre-season.

I agree mate, but i cant see Moyes begining the season with three fit strikers especially when you consider Vaghan injury problems, and the importance he puts on protecting young players in their development.

He made comments a few months after McFadden left of how it left him short of options toward with the end of the season, now with AJ gone i really think we will see another body in upfront before the start of the season, the quality of which in terms of how much we have to invest and whats avialable is debatable, but i liked Moyes's comments this morning!

if we play 451 id be more than content with yakubu , vaughan and anichebe as our top 3.

we then have jutkiewicz agard and baxter in last resort back up.

if we aim to play 442 mainly i would get another striker in though.

bent - most over rated player in the prem and a step back from aj.i wouldnt like him here tbh.
milito - good player.

imo i think we should have competed for crouch and defoe.

just an after thought , but a player who i think is available for loan and has played with a lot of our 'rumoured targets' is zaragoza's ewerthon.

ewerthon for everton anybody ?

I don't see how that works considering we're half way through our pre-season and he's still injured

I think Vauhan has the ability but he appears to have problems staying fit I know some of his injuries have not been run of mill ones but he cant play while recovering and only on this basis do I feel we cannot depend on him
