Pochettino

Pochettino won't be signing for anyone until he finalises his severance pay from Spurs -- apparently there's disagreements.

People really do need to take the royal blue tinted glasses off if you think he would be coming to us! :hayee:

I would love this to happen but can we all be real.....

I assume whichever club he ends up at next will pay that off for him.

If he came to us we'd end up paying off their stadium... Which would look mighty stupid after we sack him in 18 months.

Spurs were his reputation enhancer, he'll be looking for a side established in the Champions League (at first) I'd imagine.

We would represent a risk to his current stature in the game. We could be great with the right manager but you look at our failures in recent times and someone on the up would see us as risky.

Correct. Even poor and mediocre managers can be multi-millionaires.

For the better ones, we can't offer anything over and above the salary and that simply isn't enough, however high we go.

Pochettino is now being paid (or will be, when his severance is agreed) to be out of the game, on a sabbatical.

There isn't any logic in him coming to Everton when he can be paid to wait for, in his eyes, a much more suitable offer.

I think it more the fact that he is basically 'on gardening leave'.

He is still in theory being paid by us so any potential employer would have to negotiate his release with Levy.

He'd be able to do the same again with us having experienced good and bad things at spurs and hopefully learning from any mistakes.

He would be able to command a huge transfer budget also...
