It’s only happened now because Mourinho was available and has said yes. And Mourinho isn’t on the market, available, for very long. He’d have taken the City job when Pep goes or the Arsenal job when Emery does.

If they had hung on to Pep longer, Arsenal would have got Mourinho, a born, proven winner and Spurs would have to take a chance on a Howe, Nagelsmann or perhaps Allegri.

Its been the worst kept secret for weeks - the timing is all to do with the time taken to negotiate with Jose.

I wonder if some of them couldn't forgive him for throwing their one chance at a European Cup by playing a blatantly injured Kane.

I know it goes against the received wisdom here but I am not really surprised.

After the stupid decision to drop the in form Moura for a half fit Kane in the CL Final Poch needed a good start this term and instead they have struggled.

Added to that it seems there is massive discontent in the dressing room.

Spurs had two or three chances to really put pressure on City and the RS last season and they failed miserably.

So not a major shock to me....though I concur with those who say it is odd it didn’t happen a week ago.
