Chill was fine and nothing negative. My only complaint is when folk start lauding him as some sort of great for us or a top class talent.

In terms of 30 or so years by relative terms he is a hero. 30 years is a lifetime to people. That’s being people that are around 30 give it

Yes it’s sad when ye think of it. Like he should be looked at as a great little player in an era. But it’s indicative of how Barron things are.

Did you witness the 80s succes and Or 60s? Cause it’s understandable why you feel that way if so.

I think it also says a lot that Arteta, who was fantastic during the same era, isn't held in as high esteem by many. Cahill managed to avoid souring his relationship by his manner of exit and subsequent behaviour.

James Vaughan is still the youngest ever premier league goalscorer.

fun fact: Everton players account for 7 out of the top 20 youngest Prem goalscorers ever.

Quiz question: without googling, who were the other blues alongside Vaughan and Rooney among that top 20?

Baines surely. There's one serial detractor and there's always an outlier, so I'm inclined to put him in the list.

Baines has had plenty of stick. Especially after Pienaar left the first time.

Graham Stuart.

His guts in that game against Wimbledon, taking the penalty and scoring the winning goal. He never hid.

He took the club to heart and sees Everton as his club, even though he was from Chelsea. He is an Evertonian in every sense of the word. His shot off the bar at Wembley (should have scored), led to our last success.

A player who gave his all through the good times and the bad.

I remember when he scored for Charlton at the street end, and everyone applauded.

I’m not particularly thinking of the best players, but there are some that virtually all of us just like.

We are a diverse lot, we hear lots of love for the likes of Duncan McKenzie, Neville Southall or Duncan Ferguson, but others aren’t particularly fond of them. There are, however, a few soles that you very rarely read a dissenting post about.

I nominate;

I'd say Dave Watson, Richard Gough and of course Alan Ball & Joe Royle for us old timers.
