Harrison loan seems a waste of time so far.
It’s a tough call , we rarely loan out 2nd year Scholars and at 18 he is young to be thrown into a relegation scrap by any manager looking to keep his job. I think he’s got the talent and work rate to get himself noticed in training and force himself into the Derby team , hopefully he gets game time soon .

are they usually at least U19 (as in turning 19 that season) before they are considered for loans?

Yeah usually they’re out of the u18s and with the u21s when they’re loaned out. Theres no hard and fast rules , but there’s logic . If a player is still developing in the u21s at say 18/19 that’s fine he stays a while . Armstrong had reached a stage where even at 18 he was too good for the u21s, so pointless playing him there regularly. The decision is then do you keep him with our first team , lack of game time but top class training or loan him out , new experience and hopefully regular game time.

Only a couple of loanees in action this midweek. Billy Crellin got a rare clean sheet yesterday in Accrington's 1-0 win at Tranmere. They are 20th but clear of the relegation zone.

Another 90 minutes tonight for Eli Campbell whose Ross County lost 1-0 a St Johnstone.

Mason Holgate seems now to be permanently consigned to the bench. Didn't get on today as WBA drew 1-1 at Leeds.

Finally a start for Harrison Armstrong for Derby at Boro. It was scoreless when he went off on 76 minutes. Boro took the lead 4 minutes later and ran out 1-0 winners. Derby now rock bottom. Praise from the Derby Telegraph reporter. "Started really brightly and showed he was not afraid to tackle. The teenager always looked to pass forward and didn't look overawed on his first start. Got tired. 5.5/10".

Harry Tyrer conceded twice as Blackpool lost 2-1 at Stockport but got a 7/10 from the Gazette. "A couple of really good saves and not at fault for the goals".

A rare start for Francis Okoronkwo who put Salford 1-0 up at home to Bradford. They took him off after 70 minutes and promptly conceded twice to lose 2-1.

Billy Crellin's Accrington lost 2-1 away to Harrogate.

Jenson Metcalfe started for Chesterfield v Crewe. He went off with his side losing 2-0. It finished 3-1.

Eli Campbell continued his excellent form for Ross County. 90 minutes and a 1-0 win over Kilmarnock.

….appreciated, Matey, I was particularly interested in Armstrong so thanks for the snippet. It was a terrific goal by Okoronkwo, well worth a watch.

A clean sheet for Harry Tyrer tonight as Blackpool drew 0-0 at home to Peterborough. 7/10 from the Gazette, "made one great save in the first half from (ex Everton trialist) Mothersillie. Solid again to deny Edun after the break".

A shut out too for Billy Crellin whose Accrington beat Milton Keynes 2-0.

Jenson Metcalfe didn't get on for Chesterfield who lost 1-0 at Colchester.

Francis Okoronkwo didn't score this time out but got 90 minutes in a 2-2 draw for Salford at Swindon.
