Players feelings/appreciation

Do you ever wonder what they are thinking mate?

Yes, that's why I made the thread

Oh

You should have said in the first post mate

I think he'll be made up that he just ignored that and let him get on with it because we expected him to do the right thing.

Leave Mick alone you monster, it's not his fault, it's just the way he is.

exactly. Del, get sterilising the bottles.

I wonder how a player feels when the fans sing their name, I often look at the player and its like they ignore it but I think if that was me and the whole crowd was singing my name or a chant designed for me I would hold my hands up to them every single time or I'd laugh. Perfect example yesterday was when Barry made that decisive block and seconds later we cheered his name, how do you think he felt inside? It must feel unbelievably fantastic! I've noticed when a player is down receiving treatment an the fans are in full voice, I've seen Ross Barkley just standing there looking at us and I wonder what is he thinking right now?

I know players clap the fans when coming out, going in, corners etc but are they told to ignore the fans when their name is being sung?

Do you think they go to bed at night an just think about the game and the crowd? Being on the pitch surrounded by four walls of fans must be one of the best feelings in the world. I wonder if they lie in bed or drive home in their car thinking they were singing for me.

It must make them feel great and I wonder how Barry felt yesterday because he was well within earshot of it. I wonder what he was thinking?

i've been lucky enough to play rugby at a level with decent crowds mate. Not that rugby crowds sing your name but i can tell you that when you hear the crowd roaring you forward you do feel it and it makes you feel good. I can't ever remember hearing individual comments cos i was focused on my job on the pitch but definitely you felt the general noise. Hope that helps?

Imagine what the crowd was like when it was 50-60k.

Goodison Park in April 85 against Bayern. Imagine the intensity those Bayern players felt and how great the Everton players must've felt.

I sometimes wonder if Z Cars has the same effect on the players as it does the fans. As soon as those drums kick in my arse goes, before that I'm nervous anyway but imagine the players in the tunnel. I know they get used to it but as a supporter I have never got used to it and every time it plays I think "holy cow"

Goodison is one special special place, it shines in the night and is truly a sight to behold of an evening when those lights shine down.

Tim Howard, Leighton Baines, Seamus, Phil, Sylvain, Leon, Ross, Niki, Pienaar, Naismith, Barry, McCarthy, Hibbert, Stones, Oviedo, Mirallas, Martinez

(Apologies If I've missed anyone)

Those names above are all Evertonians, Barry and McCArthy included already because they potentially are. We are a family and it feels great. I just wish there wasn't no player/fan sort of divide, if you get what I mean?

When I say player/fan divide, that comes with the money. They are earning 10k a week plus. We as people are earning anything from 0-1k a week? Massive difference in lifestyles force us to live differently. I'm not going on about player wages in a bad way I'm just making a statement that there is segregation between players and fans but I wish there wasn't.

I want the world to be normal for everybody. I want to see footballers in Asda and I'll just say "alright mate" and he'll say "hi mate" and nobody would harass them, kids wouldn't bother them, they would walk out the ground after a match and go the KFC on county road and queue up like everyone else with the talk of football taking place but no celebrity ism that comes with it. They can still be admired as they are and have the money and lifestyle but we as fans have forced them to live isolated. We should treat them just like we would each other and vice versa. Catch my drift?

how have fans forced them to live in isolation Mick ?

Not just footballers but celebrities. We are no different to normal people yet there is a divide. There's security, and it's all B.S

I wouldn't roll with 30 deep, I'd walk around the streets where I grew up with my headphones on like any normal person.

Celebs live in isolation because the "fans" can't be trusted. Look at John Lennon, Mark Chapman was a massive fan.

Mick, do you have a gun??

I've heard a fair few players say they sh*t themselves on their debut and are overwhelmed by it all. I guess after a while they kinda get used to it and block most of the noise out. You'd still get a buzz when the crowd chant ya name though, if you're human.
