So let's look at some of the ones you say you'd prefer based on past performances, then. Valdes hasn't played a full match in a year and a half and didn't even make the substitute's bench at United when De Gea was in exile. He's done. Fraser Forster has a broken kneecap and won't play this season, so preferring him to Howard seems odd, to say the least. Ben Foster tore his ACL and won't be able to play again until at least December, so another odd choice. Begovic has been dreadful for Chelsea this season, but I'll concede that if you only look at last season you might prefer him to Howard. As for Pantilimon and Schmeichel, that's just baffling. I don't rightly know why you would think they're better than Howard, considering the way both of them leak goals.

Think you're rating of Butlands a bit generous, but yeah you're tight mate. Also worth pointing out that how much Cech, Courtois, De Gea and Lloris all cost a lot of money and would only have ever moved to a club with CL football. So as and when Howard gets replaced its going to have to be a punt on a relatively inexperienced player with potential, we tried and failed miserably doing this with Robles but it's the only way forward for us to get a top class keeper given our current budget.

Very subjective. I'd argue Mignolet, Forster, Krul, Pantillimon, Gomes, Fabianski, Schmeical, Ruddy and McCarthy are all better than Howard.

To be honest, I don't think he's better but was wary of the backlash cause he made a few good saves a couple of weeks ago. I agree, good and reliable goalkeepers are at a premium, buying them from abroad is a massive punt.

Yeah he's certainly flavour of the month based on absolutely nothing as far as I've seen.

But I've not got a realistic favourite, like I said it's going to have to be a young relatively unknown I suspect.
