Why isn't there a minus infinity option

Another Everton loss = another whine and moan about Tim Howard. If Martinez were to play 10 midfielders and a forward next week, there would be a new Howard thread wondering why he did so poorly.
I voted him a 5. He is past his prime and doesnt position himself in the correct places to make up for his lost step/reflex.
...but to piss about saying he is a 1 or this or that...just smells of arrogant ignorance. Go support Minolet.

Thank you for sharing your opinion. If Howard is a 5 mate then the average keeper in this leagues about a 8.
Never seen so many consistant errors from a keeper, he is basically alcaraz bad
But the point is to compare Howard to other goalkeepers in the Premier League this season, isn't it? If they aren't playing this season, it isn't much of a comparison, and I don't think anyone is suggesting that we don't go after a new goalkeeper for next season.
My point is, based on the actual goalkeepers in the Premier League right now, Howard is probably average or slightly better. That's partly because he's playing better than people around here are giving him credit, partly because some previously decent goalkeepers are having terrible seasons, and partly because the Premier League is missing some of its better goalkeepers right now due to injury.
Thank you for sharing your opinion.
No, they just let in goals and don't make saves. They don't look nearly as silly when they're doing it, though, so points for style?Does the average or better keeper in this league get beaten near post regularly, not come for crosses in the 6 yard box, constantly get blocked off on any set piece, throw themselves to the ground early making it easy for an opponent, not speak to his defence and do a starfish jump almost comically? Serious questions btw

Ultimately I think the standard of keepers in the Prem isn't great. But that's a crap excuse. There are loads of ace keepers in the Bundesliga for example. Where's this "global scouting network" when you need it?
I don't mind any player making mistakes if they learn and improve, but Howard has never done that. He seems downright arrogant at times in this regard (I recall him misplacing a load of goal kicks and just laughing it off). At least with a younger, hungrier keeper mistakes can be built upon. I'd much rather see Robles in the interim, and if he doesn't cut it, then a new number 1 in January. People say it's not a priority but keepers are not as expensive as other positions. Butland for example was £3.5m, how much would a promising, young English CB cost? Or a midfielder? 5 times that at least these days!
I just wish we had a keeper who inspired confidence. One who came off his line now and then to grab the ball in the air. One who kept his cool when one on one with a forward. I don't expect Southall MK2, but I do expect better than Tim Howard now.
Sooner have Frankie Howerd.I'd rather have Ron Howard
Happy days......
