Pienaar

I know you might not know this so its just a general question but has he handed in a transfer request? Thought he would if he's that desperate to go but maybe its not needed.

If Spurs are playing hardball and throwing out other teams names as being interested can't we just throw out a few names of players we might be in for? Surely the game works both ways.

Or have we basically made it look like we're totally desperate for Pienaar to come back and are so skint we'd rather see the deal collapse than pay an extra few thousand?

No, but it may come to that. Everyone thought this was a straightforward done deal. Pienaar's agent is kind of knob too, and gave him bad advice last time if you remember. So it's not like he's defo in our corner. It's too late to pretend we don't want him, and it's too late to pretend he doesn't want to come here. Just know that there is no love lost between BK and Levy. It's rich guys negotiating and Levy is trying to play hardball to make himself feel better I guess. Would have thought this would have been done by now, but such is the way of the world.

Again, even if this drags out, I'm not arsed. Peanuts could show up the day before the Man U game, and slot right in. Also keep in mind what I said above. 68k a week. Spurs are paying that right now. I know we want this tied up, but it's not killing us to not pay him for the next few weeks.

The problem with that is that everyone knows we want Pienaar, with everyone from Moyes to Distin to the younger players all commenting publicly that we want Pienaar back soon. Also, everyone also knows we have very little money to spend, so can't afford to switch our attentions elsewhere. Everyone would know we're just fibbing.

Yeah thats what i thought. Isn't that one of the first rules of negotiating, never show your hand early?

We'll get Pienaar eventually, but it will either be deeply prolonged and not until the last few hours of August 31st, or it will be for an amount greater than what we would like to pay.

I don't know why people are hitting panic stations, THT and LCAB both seem quite chilled and confident of new signings, including Pienaar. THT also retweeted a story about Everton negotiating with the MLS to sign Donovan permanently which is quite interesting.

Someone on Twitter (i know!) claimed we sold Cahill to NYRB's so cheaply as a sweetner in discussions for Donovan. IF seilling Cahill to the MLS as cheap as we did/do helps us to get Donovan permenantly for cheap then im all for it and hope there's some truth to it!.

Seems the most recent quote from Rob Moore his business manager

“Steve is still a Hotspurs player, until everything have been finalised,â€￾ said his Spanish-based business manager Rob Moore. “There is no doubt that he wants to further his career at Everton as they have been good to him. He was not having some game time at Hotspurs and when he returned to Everton, he became a hero again.

“At the moment all things depend on how the two teams reach an agreement but with rumours doing the round that Cahill is moving to MLS, the deal is likely to be completed before Friday,â€￾ said Moore.

Funny seeing this just now cos yesterday or monday, think it was monday when news broke Cahill was off, and everton account on twitter said all sadness regarding Cahill will turn to happyness come friday!. Here's hoping aye.

Qpr have a 4mil bid on the table ,pienaar doesn't want to talk to them levy wants 5mil off us because it's in installments.
This could drag on for a while yet! 4.5mil should do it or a player!
