I don't think there's anything like that in place.

Manny could have played lights out and another club could have come in and trumped us assuming we would have lodged a bid.

Right now, I think we're safe from that type of scenario.

Pienaars an ok player...few decent passes thats it. Offers little else...hence why he failed in the Bundesliga and virtually nobody but us is interested in him. For 2.5million id take him however in saying that i still think hes slightly out of his depth in the Premiership. Manny is a far superior player...although has been ordinary for us since re-signing.

Could'nt disagree with that statment more!! He's a great little player,sets up plenty scores now an then can play through the middle as well as wide. An track back an defends very well, he's also a good tackler.

You say know one els is intrested in him. What about Arsenal an velencia? They both asked about his availibilty.

He's a good player an a snip at 2.5m.

An id take him all day over manny, even if they both cost 5m.

Thanks TX. I wouldnt dismiss the idea of us trying to keep Manny now. Dont know about anyone else, but i thought he played well when he came on at Analfield and has done well in the Derby and Brum games since.

But at what price Roy, I still wouldn't pay more than five mil for him, he doesn't offer enough and it pisses me off when he goes walkabout. The talk of us paying £12 mil is a joke, he isw nothing like that good. The Pienaar deal is good value for money

One thing we don't need is another centre back, we are awash with them. The number one target has to be a replacement for Carsley, we may just about get another season out of him but the sell by date is showing.

Exactly, and I'm not picking on him on the hand ball at Brum either he gives his all and sets the others free to roam a bit. But getting long in the tooth now and should only feature like Scholes does. I'm with you a good holding midfielder and flair handler or winger to stretch the pitch.

I'm getting less sold on the need for a holding midfielder. I think Cars is OK for another season, and I rather think Rodwell is being groomed for that role, but as more of a playmaker - the next Roy Keane perhaps . Assuming Neville is still around next season, then (sadly) he'll be another option in that role.

We do freak out when players don't get signed on time don't we? Peanut will be coming out to Z cars next season, I'm *knock on wood* sure of it.
