Pienaar/Osman

For me just not good enough.

Well he's been a first choice player in a side that's finished 4th, 6th and 5th, he's our second highest goalscorer from midfield after Cahill and he can play in about five different positions and has done throughout his career at Everton.

He needs to be replaced but I don’t see why we’d need to release him, he’s proven over the last few years that he can offer something even if he’s not a world beater. We are trying to build a squad after all.

Pienaar needs to start scoring goals.

I think thats the only thing ossie has on him.

After Osmans performance the other night he should be nowhere near any team that is looking to challenge the Sky 4. He is weak, slow continually gets knocked off the ball and giving away stupid passes. He might be the most skillful in training but that isnt where it matters. Pienaar is class. No comparison at all.

Not even a question, Pienaar every time. Ossie is a squad player at best

Fcuking bang on . Osman should be shaken by the hand in the Summer for all he has done for the club . Then promptly sold to the highest bidder . Its all very well saying " Yeah but hes good solid pro and our squad is small " etc etc etc zzzzzzzzzzz . Plain as day fact is he is not good enough for were we are going . Football is cruel but then again is the thin line between success and failure and I know which one id rather be tasting and that taste doesnt come with players like Osman .

I like Pienaar's drive. He never seems to quit. He runs his ass off to play both ends of the pitch. If you could take that engine and put it in VDM... now that could be something to behold even without the blazing pace. I would like more consistency from him. Pace too but you can't add what God left out.

Osman has his moments and he does have the better eye for the goal. But if he is really a central mid, why doesn't DM see it? There's something missing that Moyes doesn't trust. While the skills are there, is Leon the McFadden of the midfield? Ranging from wonder goal to invisible?

i think it's a bit lazy to compare the 2 players, seemingly, because they are both midfielders of small stature - their style of play is markedly different, imo. just 2 examples are that pienaar is much better at running with the ball & taking the ball past a defender than osman is & osman is a far greater goal threat than pienaar is.

Osman is one of those players who can be anonymous for a whole match and then just pops up with a chance in a very dangerous position (like when he hit the post v the rs).

Pienaar however is always involved and has a very good engine on him. He's a big player for us as you all know, and is usually involved in the creation more so than finding himself in goalscoring positions.
