Got sent this the other day and this was the team I came up with..

Southall
Maldini
Kompany
Ramos
Ivanovic
Matthaus
Best
Nedved
Messi
Shearer
Mbappe

Southall (Wales)

Cafu (Brasil)
Baresi (Italy)
Sammer (Germany)
Vertonghen (Belgium)

Senna (Spain)
Rui Costa (Portugal)
Giresse (France)

Messi (Argentina)
Elkjaer (Denmark)
Mostovoi (Russia)

Boss brainteaser. You start off separating by nationality and there are so many of the obvious names who played at the Big Spanish and Italian clubs. Plus Ajax throws a massive spanner in the works.
Not totally sure nobody here shared clubs. Surely the fun is in not using Google.
Cafu, Baresi and Rui Costa all shared clubs mate ;)

Neville Southall (Wales)

Philipp Lahm (Germany)
Paolo Maldini (Italy)
Vincent Kompany (Belgium)
Lilian Thuram (France)

Dragan Stojkovic (Serbia/Yugoslavia)
Carlos Valderrama (Colombia)
Joao Moutinho (Portugal)

Diego Maradona (Argentina)
Wayne Rooney (England)
Ronaldo (Brazil)
FFS just realised Maradona and Ronaldo shared clubs

My first draft planned to include Carlos Alberto and Beckenbauer but they both played at New York Cosmos. I had a brilliant link up with Jimmy Johnstone and Paul McGrath.... both played at Sheff Utd briefly unbelievably. Rudi Karol and Zidane both played at Cannes!!
Anyway I refuse to compromise over getting Alan Ball and Zinedine Zidane in the same team so its back to the drawing board for a while.
I suggest you all check with @Dario Terracotta before posting! He will be able to tell you what they all had for breakfast on any given day!!!

Did this at lunch at work yesterday!!
Southall,Alberto,Maldini,Beckenbauer,MooreZidane,Valderrama,Cruyff,Eusabio,Drogba

It was easier in older times as you'd get players staying at Portugese or Dutch clubs for their entire career, plus so many of the south american players would stay there. From the 00s onwards the big clubs monopolise the world's best players and it's much harder.
