Philippe Senderos

Sometimes Dave, just sometimes - the club aren't a joke. We look like we have signed a player .

I think so too, and I said what a good signing he'll be yesterday.

and you quickly brand the club things like "Worst strategists in the world". Its incredibly tedious.

It looks sloppy to me. The words from the club and the local press they wind up and send out to do their bidding for them are cringeworthy in attempting to shore up the position established re Lescott.

Just accept it as a differing viewpoint...or is it ok if I state in every response that 'some people will always gullibly accept the club's line'?

I really dont understand the need for that comment.

I accept your view point mate, it may turn out to be true- i just dont think so - simply a rubuttle.

Wasnt an individual dig mate, I was more commenting on the theme i have noticed on this and different message boards of armagedhon for armaghedon's sake. The sooner the football starts the better!

It seems stressfull.

I don't see the trouble with bringing Senderos in, it doen't mean we HAVE to offload Lescott so I don't think we're in a worse negotiation position if we sign Senderos or we don't. I still think Lescott will leave and that will force us to get another CB anyway to cover for Jags injury and Yobo going to the ACN.

I feel Senderos will be a good signing, if we could add the little swedish boy Elm on the top, my hunger for signings would be filled, dont mind if we get dessert also, but that might be alot to ask.

There is not a chance in hell that we will spend 6 million on Senderos. He is in the last year of his contract. I read on one website (foreign) that the fee was 2.9 million euros, which would be an absoloute snip if true.

if hes good enough for ac milan ( where he socred 5 goals in 15 appearances) then he's good enough for everton.

From what I've heard, he's a good solid defender. Wont get beatn too often. The problem is when he is beaten, he doesn't have the pace to deal with it. He loses confidence as well. I think he could do well here, with our legendary team spirit and a decent defensive partner, he could turn out to be another Moyes bargain.

Or he could flop terribly.

If he's that good then why didn't milan sign him up?

he suffered a couple of injurys but still played 15 games for them and scored 5 (compare that loan signing to say...ours with castillo).

i think he wasnt signed becouse ac milan now have a different manager with different ideas.

who knows ? maybe ancelloti will put a late bid in to take him to chelsea.

Maybe so. A slightly better position for the club to take up (now that the cat appears to be well and truly out the bag re Senderos) would be to just trumpet the signing as a straight replacement for Jagielka, who wont be seeing much of the first half of the season - if any of it. Instead we've got them talking an unconvincing story about 'well, we're still not there with Arsenal yet. No deal in place'. Of course, that might well be the case, but it looks to me more like a forlorn attempt at damage limitation after a bad day was suffered in the war of nerves with City over Lescott.

Obviously, I hope I'm wrong and that we see the bidding war going up to £25M+player or offers over £25M.
