oh joy, the OS are admitting to something happening.

Is it just me or has Senderos been around for years and he's only 24! Looks alot older mind.

enter Senderos......exit ?

I dont rate Senderos at all. Mind you the last time he played against us I was so critical of him. He then pops up and scores against us so you never know. He might be a good replacement for Lescott.

But I remain unconvinced.

Was Arsenals vice captain and played every game in a record clean sheet run.

Still only 24, experience at the highest level. Ticks all the boxes for me. Will be interesting to see what kind of fee...

Sitting here wondering why Arsenal loaned him out last year though.

this fella is a bad player. I hope he is just a squad player for us and not a replacment for Lescott

Stephen Jones
Another step backwards. Thought we needed to strengthen the team

And my favourite :

Mark C Watling
Why are talks always "ON GOING"?! How come we takes weeks signing some1 but yet villa, spurs take about 24hrs?! Bet this won't get put up.

On the other side of the coin though, AC Milan wanted him...

115 appearences for Arsenal by the age of 23 I think I read, he certainly isn't no schmuck.

Tbh I dont know a lot about him. I did check him out on youtube and he certainly looks like he'll fit the bill for us. Seems to me every time we go looking at a player someone else jumps in and snaps them up. Are they all relying on our scouts I wonder. Either that or they trust DM's judgement. Best be quick and get him signed up before bednap moves in on him.

True that, but he just never lived up to the potential Arsenal thought he had. And let's be fair, Wenger is the master of bringing out the best in young players, so who's to say he isnt right in offloading him. I wouldnt place him in our starting eleven, though as said before, he would be a really useful backup.

On a side note, he looks like his people just invented fire, never seen a player with such a dumb look on his face, Tevez looks like a huge neanderthal but at least you'd guess his people will have invented the wheel by now.

Player Profile:

Swiss teenager Philippe Senderos was one of two signings made by Arsene Wenger during the summer of 2003, although the deal had been agreed back in December 2002.

Arsenal beat off competition from some of Europe's top clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich for the 18-year-old's signature.

The Geneva-born defender signed for an undisclosed fee, although the deal was thought to be worth around £2.5million.

Senderos caught Wenger's eye while captaining Switzerland to victory in the European uner-17 championship in 2003.

The youngster said: "I have great respect for Arsenal, I have always liked this club. I have watched out for their results in Europe and love the stadium and fans.

"I like the English game and I think playing in the Premiership will allow me to develop better as a player."

Wenger said of his capture: "I am a big believer in this boy. He will be a major asset in the future."

In the 2004/05 campaign he made a clutch of good performances (23 in all), including one in the FA Cup final victory against Manchester United at the Millenium Stadium.

This good work continued in the 05/06 season, as he made a further 34 appearances, scoring twice.

Like much of the Arsenal squad, he went to Germany for the World Cup, playing and scoring for a Swiss side who were knocked out on penalties by Ukraine in the second round.
However, during that tournament he suffered a shoulder injury that kept him out for large sections of the 2006/07 season. He played only twenty games.

Things improved for Senderos in 2007/08 and, despite a few notable errors - the Champions League quarter-final exit to Liverpool being one example - he enjoyed a successful campaign. However, in August 2008 he joined AC Milan on loan for the season.

Liverpool Echo.co.uk - Everton FC - News - Everton FC move for Arsenal's Philippe Senderos

Weakest line ever:

"If a move for Senderos does go through, it does not mean that Joleon Lescott will be hurried through the Goodison Park exit door."

"Chairman Bill Kenwright told Echo Sport today: “We have been negotiating with Arsenal for the transfer of Philippe. Nothing has been concluded yet but talks are on going.”

Bill, we know it's done mate. It's all over Europe.

City must be pissing themselves at the club having to acknowledge what's been brought into the opublic domain. Chances of getting £25M out of this lot now? Zero. Worst strategists in the world.
