Philippe Senderos

£3-4mill would be good I reckon. Remember we've got European games to play, Yobo in the ANC, Jags not back till November. He'll be solid for those European ties and Carling Cup games to give players rest.

senderos - at first i thought this wouldnt be a good signing.

he has always seemed like one of those players who has 90 % great potential 10% liability. ive seen him switch off and lose goals on a number of occasions in the past and he has had fairly regular injuries.

but thinking about it , he is still only 24 and has been going through a learning curve.
he has played for top clubs at the top level and it could be fair to say he has had enough experience to mature and get better.

5 goals in 15 games for milan last season also isnt the sign of a bad player imo.

young , 6ft 3in ,4 years international experience , 6 years of prem experience , 1 year of serie A experience , european experience , good price at 6 million.

yobo , jags , lescott , senderos is a good assortment of cb's who would all need to fight for a starting place.
it would also leave lescott free to cover the lb position.

ps according to wiki senderos speaks 6 languages which will also come in very handy id imagine.

well if that's the best we can get so be it but remember the start of last season, how many goals did we concede before Jags and J Lo got their act together?
I'm losing my patience with this club. I trust Moyes and after such a good season (eventually) I shouldnt complain but we seem to be the new poor relations of the Prem league.
Senderos?
Sigh......

uknightbreed has convinced me. Providing it's not as a replacement for Lescott, then I'm happy enough with this move.

Read into this as you wish but their is no Senderos in Arsenal's starting line-up or on the bench at home to Atletico Madrid. May not suggest anything, just a bit of food for thought.

we need senderos even with lescott. i have no idea why papers are thinking he is a replacement.

jagielka is injured until november so we need cover at centerback especially with hopefully some european games.

i think he will be a great signing as long as he keeps his shoulder in its socket.

just for you NNN* :p)

theres no senderos for arsenal and no delph for leeds apparently.

i agree that sendoros cant be a replacement for lescott but would be a great addition to the squad as it is.
imo we would need 2 players to replace lescott (senderos + a lb ) aswell as another cb for cover.

getting sendoros give us more competition and options......

jags can play rb (cover for hibbert)
lescott can play lb (cover for baines)

is it possible we would have the tallest back 4 in the prem if we ever played...... jagielka yobo senderos lescott ?

I think he would be a good signing, not a replacement for Lescott, we need extra defenders and he has premiership experience so it shouldnt take him too long to adapt being back in the premiership

He's probably of the best cover cb's we could hope to get so just judging his (prospective) signing on its own merits it looks good.

Take everything else into account and it doesn't but thats a different thread!
