The top news on BBC is the gun salute in honour of him. Let's just milk this for whatever it's worth... Still on the brightside I think it will end sooner than the VVD crisis took to die down.

Tbf though mate whether we like it or not he is/was above peasants like us. Same way if the PM or Biden died the media would make a big deal of it.

They'll always be a hierarchy in society - same way if Christiano Ronaldo went into Popworld he would have his pick of the spoils when it came to the ladies whilst the rest of us were left to play with ourselves on the sideline.

In fairness Jimmy is that the only actual facts in there are that he was privileged and that he lived until he was 99. The rest is your opinion, which has most likely been driven by the fact he was privileged.
Not necessarily, more driven by my anti-royal opinion. I believe it’s a fairly disgusting and archaic institution to be honest and find the public fawning over them to be sickening. I’m happy to have someone provide evidence to me that he wasn’t a horrible man though...

Imagine the vitriol if he was a working class lad with rumours of him sneaking round places watching women undress, multiple affairs, outright racism all doing so whilst protecting his alleged sex offender son.
The tough on crime lads would be frothing.

£360k a year stipend for doing it too.

One of those was elected president and the other, through ability, has made themselves one of the greatest footballers of all time.

There is not a comparison there.

“A colourful character”
“Prone to the odd gaffe”
“Always did things his way”
“A man who never let political correctness get in his way”

Just a few phrases I’ve heard the media use to skirt around the fact that he was a rancid old incestuous, racist who started eyeing up his future wife when she was only 13.
That was shocking television that. The BBC will be getting a rocket from the Palace for showing that footage of an 18 year old chatting up a 13 year old.

He's like Jerry Lee Lewis.

So a bit like Jerry Lee Lewis without the wild piano playing

Id imagine the view of him being horrible is mainly driven by the numerous dodgy things he's said rather than him being privileged. Didn't he once make a famous comment to a South American dictator about how great it was to see a country not ruled by the people ? Id say that alone is good enough for someone to consider him somewhat horrible.

Regardless of how they get into power the reality is they have the power mate.

Same way people can moan if their manager only got that position through who they knew / being a kiss arse that means little to the fact they have that position.

It is what it is.
