U20s could attract big name
The England side competing in the Under 20 World Championship in Turkey this summer are bound to attract greater interest than usual because of the management team.
The FA are advertising for a team boss on a two-month contract and the likelihood is that a well-known name will be chosen. In addition, the FA want to give fast-track tournament experience to two or three top players with coaching potential.
Phil Neville and Jamie Carragher are thought to be among those under consideration.

Could see it happening, not sue about Carragher though, I cant understand a word he says never mind southerners

Couldn't see him being it to be honest.
Imagine the future of England, oh god.

It will be no surprise at all if Neville turns out to be a good manager. Time will tell, but he has a lot of the attributes that you would be looking for. The best one being his footballing brain, he reads the game very well Neville, and it has most probably helped him a lot over the years with his limited ability.

Most good or even great managers were pretty mediocre as players.

Ferguson was a plodding centre forward and I am not even sure if Wenger played pro football.

Mourinho certainly didn't.

Even Moyes was no more than a journeyman centre half.

Phil is our Captain and has never ever failed to give us 100%. I have nothing but admiration and respect for the man. His playing days are most certainly coming to an end and he has been a superb servant and ambassador for our Everton.

I think he could well make an excellent manager and a post like this is an honour for him and for us.

I hope he gets it.

Has he had any coaching training?

yeah he's got a b license I think

he'd be a good manager for a youth side - would only be good for everton for two reasons:

1) He'd probably be retiring - no disrespect but I think it's his time
2) He's more likely to select younger Everton players for such a squad which would mean they would gain invaluable experience

Absolutely this!!!

Moyes was a crap defender too.... just sayin...

Ah, I see. I agree totally.

As somebody above said, the fact he's been a somewhat limited footballer that has spent his entire career at the highest level might be in his favour as a coach. My only concern would be how much respect he'd garner as a man who tints his hair.

It's amazing how many ex-players under Ferguson have gone on to manage over the last 15 years. Bruce, Ince, Keane, Hughes, Robson... I'm sure quite a few more. Although I guess they've all kind of sucked in their own ways.

People forget. There was a time when Neville was an important part of our matchday squad due to his leadership qualities. That time has obviously passed, but it's not for a lack of trying on his part. He will make a fine manager one day IMO.
