PES 2016

PES 6 was Adriano and Terry.

Been playing 2016 a bit more and have some views. It is a very good football game and the best PES for years and years (probably since 6) but is no way a 10/10 game as there are a number of pretty big issues.

1. Defending is not very good as the standing tackle seems very dodgy in effectiveness. Sliding tackle (as someone else said) is too powerful.

2. Playing on Top Player mode (second hardest) and the difficulty is so skewed. Going forward seems too easy and defending is too hard with the computer having laser accurate through balls which are almost impossible to cut out.

3. As a result of this you end up with bonkers score lines constantly. I've scored at least 3 goals in every match I've played. In my last match I lost 6-4 to Lille and the one before I beat Norwich 5-3. These are standard scores it seems.

4. Goalkeepers seem pretty rubbish too.

It's so close to being an excellent football game and I am still enjoying it despite the flaws noted above. When you are attacking and building a move it is so much more satisfying than FIFA and it really reminds me off old Pro Evo/ISS games in that respect. I'm not sure how much longevity I will find with it though if the problems above aren't addressed. I will try the harder level but fear what the computer will do to me given the state of the defending at the moment.

Pes is a good game and if you go on www.pesworld.co.uk all the proper kits r there to download and put on. The big let down for me is the teams are all last seasons. They still haven't given a date when the update will be. Overall gameplay is good and I'm enjoying playing it. Played the Fifa demo and wasn't that fussed really. I have still preorder cause my brother won't buy pes so still like taking him the cleaners.

Played a bit more of it tonight, and the above is pretty fair, except that I don't have the issue with defending with the standing tackle. I've had to ramp the difficulty level up quicker than I would have thought to neutralise myself in terms of goalscoring though, as the AI defending is a bit off.

Key bit is the bold sentence though - despite the flaws, I'm really enjoying it. As said earlier, I stick with it being an 8/10 game - the press have overhyped it but not by the amount it usually does with the "PES Cycle", where "PES is back" when it really, really isn't.

I think i can conclusively say now that it's the best Pro Evo since 6 without doubt at this point anyway.

They get some basic stats wrong again (like the height of EFC players, Jags...Hibbo etc). Do they get feedback from us and make amendment I wonder?

Great kits. I enjoy the game even more with proper EFC kits on.

There's an e-mail address for any amendments to player stats and any other general errors you spot, you want the e-mail address mate?

How are you by the way, you well?

What I find it strange is how a game maker, after all these years, can have some wrong stats putting into the game. No ta, I see where you are coming from.

Everybody makes mistakes mate

Mate, for instance Jags...they have the wrong stats aka height on the player pre 2014 and have the correct stats in Pes 2015 but for some reason they revert back to the wrong stats in Pes 2016.

If I am part of the Pes team I will check the real stats before inputting these small things correctly. In the end people are paid to buy the game. I am not talking about small amount of error. Everton, alone, have about eight players with wrong stats (height).

But can we be certain that Jagielkas height hasn't been fluctuating year by year?

Ha alright mate.

Have you not seen the findings done where they found footballers were prone to significant physical changes from one season to the next depending on their training schedule, and bizarrely one of the biggest changes occurred with height. So it's feasible that he could be shorter this season than he was last, but taller next season than he was this, all to do with the muscles growth and development in key areas.
