Played this again the other day after being underwhelmed by the demo.
All I can say is that the word "eww" describes it best. May be one of those games that you need to invest time in to enjoy, but I didn't feel the inclination to do so.
Massive shame as I badly want a boss PES with a boss Master League as back in the day it was amazing.

PES was class in 2001/2002/2003/2004 and I didn't carry on after that I don't think on the PS2 but the football and the goals were awesome.
Fifa was wank at this time and I couldn't get into the style of play. PS3 I came back with fifa 09 and still play it now.
Maybe we should see how the PS4 takes to the new batch
