PES 2014 - Is anyone still arsed?

Is the demo, accurate to the actual game play. I found the demo to be a bit slow, the players turn slower than milk and the odd goal mouth scramble that I had in the demo seemed to slow the game even further?

Normally takes me couple of weeks to fall in love with pro evo when it comes out and don't think this will be any different.

Played 3 la liga games last night with Real and despite being fairly gash at it at this point I didn't concede a goal, only scored 2, the new through ball and shooting options are very different, I just reverted both options to what i'm used to.

Looking forward to some decent option files and starting the master league.

Played one game and it seems really really sluggish the way in which the players move and react (worse than FIFA). Will take some getting used to. Also they really need to improve presentation, it barely looks better than FIFA 08 with player faces. Makes me appreciate the good things about FIFA, as infuriating as it can be.

I adore PES - And thought last year's was a definite improvement from previous editions, but this new one is terrible - The presentation is terrible, the menus looks like something from an Amiga game, player faces are nowhere near as good as last year, and the generally gameplay is like crawling through porridge wearing a straitjacket

I'm still willing to give it the benefit of the doubt - Every PES takes ages to get used to - This one just seems to be of particularly poor quality on first impression

I know what you mean, but it might be just cuz the engine and everything about it is new.

The same thing happened to me at around PES10 (I think?) when they put on the current engine, which differed a lot from the previous ones.

This, so far, anyway, as you said it can take time getting used to new ones so hope this is the case, but its tough to play at the minute.

Last years was a huge improvement, didn't see the big need for the huge overhaul.

What does FIFA play like these days ?

This is some awful effort, the gameplay is so slow, doing a simple task like turning on the ball seems like a real chore. The goalkeeping is a farce, i'd say near half the goals scored have been due to gk errors .

I know PES has never been blessed with licences but this years is a joke with regards player faces and the ridiculous amount of stadiums in the game, something not quite right with playing all your La Liga games in the "konami stadium".

When you play a league with, say, Barca, you would like the other games to have a sense of realism about them and Madrid to win more often than not but in the opening 4 games they have been beaten 3-0 and 4-0 by Sevilla and Getafe, ridiculous, Atletico are sitting bottom of the table too with 4 games gone.

I can barely play the game, yet have 10 points from 12, and a cl win over the mighty "North London", which doesn't say much for the awful CPU.

Welp, not as good as I thought it would be, I'm proper smashing everyone 4+:0 every time I play (even though I made the needed transfers for Everton and a few bigger ones). It is on regular though, might change to professional to see what that is like.

Goals are a farce, precise shots have about a 95% success rate for me, nevermind where he keeper is. And for some reason they're beasting powershots from outside the box...

I do think that I might play the game, but I haven't checked the Become a Legend mode yet, so I'll probably play that if it's any good (had about 9 seasons on a previous version, still never played for Everton).

Not really arsed about the player animations, they'll be fixed with a new patch in a couple of weeks, hopefully some gameplay issues can be resolved too.

This "catch up" issue where no matter how well you play to get behind the defense the defender will make it back to you is a farce, needs fixing.
