PES 2014 - Is anyone still arsed?

PES was brilliant until 2008, at was in 2008 people got fed up, by 2009 they gave up and moved.

For me, a football game doesnt have to have the real names, stadiums, or sponsorships, it just needs to have options and run smoothly. PES in 2008 had easily the worst online servers imaginable. The game was always lagging, and connecting to match took for ages. 4 Fixes were attempted, and none worked, then by late spring 2009, they decided to focus on the next version and didnt try and fix 2008.

2009 brought the 1st 2v2 (whilst Fifa went 11v11), and again the online was a mess, it was at this stage PES not only lost its followers, but they were welcomed into the warmth of Fifa. Fifa had a fantastic online setup, 11v11, clubs.

I switched to have a game were it brought me hours of smooth online with banter, whilst PES struggled to even let you play 1v1 without lag. I have not returned to PES, and I never will.

It looks stunning this year. Using the Fox engine that was developed for the new metal gear game, so all the players, kits, physics are all been redone.

Just tweak the game play from last year's one, and it'll be on to a winner.

This.

I had it on the 360 and it was great, better than any of the PS2 editions.

I've never had as much fun on FIFA as I used to on Pro Evo.

Remember how good Adriano was on that game?

Personally I hated the 360 version of PES 6. Just couldn't get into it anywhere near as much as the PS2 version. Possibly due to familiarity but really didn't like it.

Not the same, the league structures in England are not there and the volume of teams in fifa makes it feel more like real world football being simulated.

That's not Konami's fault though. They're trying to make it as best they can. But EA have spent an unreal amount of money to stop them. They've even blocked them from having the stadium creator in this year's addition, because they felt it infringed on copyright as they've spent millions on licensing stadiums this year.

Bottom line is its all gloss. Fifa doesn't have the proper European competitions, so the structure stuff isn't all gold.

Brilliant point. The main thing I did love when playing Pro Evo last year was playing with Everton in the proper Champions League. In fact I think that's what I played most.
