Pep Guardiola to leave City

Thought lots of things would break Pep... but struggling against a League who's had a summer boot camp with Tony Pulis, was not what I was expecting.
Arteta's grappleball has done what Klopp's all out free flowing football couldn't and broken Pep.

I get that viewpoint, and all the stuff against him, the squads he inherited the money spent etc, but he still had to win the Trophies.

He's got the trophy cabinet to counter the accusations. 4 league titles in a row is no fluke

Fergie literally inherited a youth team with 6 generational talents then cherry picked Cantona and Keane from their clubs.

Jose was bankrolled at Chelsea by abramovich. The difference is the prices weren't as ridiculous as thry are now.

Even klopp spent about 900 million in his time at the pond scum.

Peps no different. Football is. His tactics aren't what made football boring, everyone else copying them did.
Fergie rebuilt utd several times, he also has the Aberdeen job in his cap which puts him above the bore imo. For the advantages pep has always held his record in Europe is terrible

Not for me. The media love someone like this. Make out hes some sort of football professor and ignore the vast amounts of cash floating around. Those charges are likely the tip of the iceberg but no one really cares. Same as they did with Chelsea and ‘José’
Football is horrible to watch as well.

Ooh, now you've gone a step too far there. Prime Mourinho was on a different level, the intensity and level of preparation he brought to his teams.

I think "Pep" is convinced of his own genius and has made it easy for journalists to buy in to a product.

But Mourinho, for scale and variety of achievements sits somewhere in the top ten, under Heynckes, Ancelotti, Dyche no doubt, but still right up there.

The Munich job is a good case study for where pep stand (i stil have him down as elite), he took them over at the perfect time to win league after league but in europe he took the Heynekes model over and made them worse, throwing out several key components that seemed detrimental. Breaking up that Javi Martinez/Schweinsteiger combo was a crime

After last nights exit from the Champions League, the press now seem convinced he'll leave at the end of the season. But he'll leave with some record.

71.6% win percentage
6 Premier Leagues
4 League Cups
3 Community Shields
2 FA Cups
1 Champions League
1 Club World Cup

Not entirely found out then.
Be interesting to see if it was all won on a level playing field.
