This really, though I wouldn't call them idiots, they're just people who feel totally divorced from Labour.

People on GOT, and, to some extent, Scousers in general, seem to live in a bit of a bubble which either doesn't include people who are sympathetic to UKIP's views, or choose to ignore them.

Much as I find Farage and Nuttall individually repugnant and I have no time for UKIP's views, I know plenty of people who agree with UKIP.

The situation reminds me a bit of the lead up to Thatcherism, when the chattering left-wing classes ( of which I was one ), stuck their heads in the sand and ignored the fact that her right-wing views were striking a chord with enough of the working class to get her elected. The rest is history.
