how about a slightly more lenient points system where the points also relate to the number of days banned (for ease of reference), and also tidying up the expiration times. Plus the ability to see our own points and those of @MoutsGoat too.

Add a generally more lax approach to thread closures unless things are really getting too tasty (except Everton forum, where it's often necessary).

The moderation has always been good at keeping a lid on proper damaging nastiness (which has been the chaotic death of lesser forums), so not much would change in their approach when handling stuff like that.


Warning System
20 Points = Suspended for 2 Days.
70 points = Suspended For 7 Days.
140 points = Suspended For 14 Days.
(at discretion of mods/admins) = longer bans or permaban.


Off Topic (mostly only applicable in Everton forum): 5 points
Inappropriate Language: 5 points
General Behaviour Warning: 10 points
Minor Spamming: 10 points
Posting Abusive/Offensive Material: 70 points
Spammed Advertisements: 70 points

all infractions expire after 30 days.



Other potentially bad vibes should be dealt with at the discretion of the mods during those fabled cups of cocoa, things like

- trolling (which could be all-sorts, even fun harmless stuff but also danger-weirdos like Roberta and kopites)
- targeted abuse or abuse in general (when it's funny it's funny, but can get mean-spirited and nasty)
- genuine racism/hate-speech (actually quite rare, but the really bad stuff is deffo worth more than 70 points)


And a particular oft-punished jaunt could possibly be relaxed upon, depending on the poster, namely multi-adventures...who doesn't love those valiant attempts to return?
