Our potential right side

Yannick fam
Put him on the left fam!

Upon Seamus Coleman’s return, and Aaron Lennon’s form, we’re gonna have quite a good right side.

We all know Seamie’s talents, and add in Lennon’s ability to tackle, defend and get foward, we could see a right sided version of Pienaar/Baines.

With that potential partnership I feel like on the otherside Bolasie could be great in front of Baines and take some pressure off Bainesy! Still feel he has a season, maybe 2, to give us with the right man in front of him!

We can't know if Seamus can return fully fit until he actually returns. But if he can (and I hope he can ) , the position returns to him with the captains armband to boot ,no question.

Bolaise plays the wing by himself. One of the reasons he infuriated the life out of me last year was how he ruined the effectiveness of our full backs. Proper head down with no appreciation of the movement around him.

In away games where we're pinned back that's not much of a problem but at home I'd use him as an impact player.

+1

Play them both until Coleman is up to speed, Seamus RB Kenny RW. We started Seamus there a few times with Neville to great effect against Bale.

Mentioned in another thread, Kenny at right back, he does a lot if similar things to Coleman and gechas a brilliant delivery on him which Seamus lacks, Coleman at left back, his biggest strength is his ability to drive into the box and work that line, neither should be badly affected by changing sides, and indeed he'd be getting into 'legs box on his right foot as well played o that side.

I like this threads positivity but it ignores how limited a player Lennon is. He's in the side because he works hard and has some pace.

A very dodgy start but no doubt Kenny has been a highlight this season.

Coleman will take ages to get back but at least now we have proper backup.

Although I am waiting to see how he does in the derby.

Every good PL side has two decent players in every position. On the right, when fit, we have Coleman, Kenny, Bolasie and Lennon. So yep, no worries there I think.

The left, though, is another matter, but there is potential perhaps in a year or two's time with Antonee Robinson and Lookman. We need experienced cover at LB quick-ish though to cover the decline of Baines, before the younger brigade steps up.
