...Hibbert is a prime example of a very ordinary modern footballer who earned millions from the game whilst many of the true Everton greats live on an old age pension.

To play 265 league games on a football pitch without scoring a single goal is shameful and testimony to how poor he was. He’s simply not worthy of highlighting in a thread like this.
100 percent in agreement, a lucky lucky man

Clean sheet away at AEK Athens I think. I also remember Hibbo marking Aguero our the game at centreback and also even marshalling Peter Crouch. If he’d played in Italy he could have been a brilliant central defender. Didn’t have the pace to be the modern attacking fullback but he could cross a ball better than Coleman that’s for sure.
"Probably our best technical defender for a long time." Take the rose tinted classes off; he was a half decent fullback, thats it.
Also I'd rather have one season of quality than 10 seasons of mediocracy!

I can remember a European tie in Moyes days when all our recognised centre backs were injured or suspended and Hibbert played cb, away from home, with a very young Duffy alongside him. Not only did Hibbo step into his new role with skill and dedication, he also talked Duffy through the game and they played a blinder together. I honestly can't remember the result but I know we didn't lose. Hibbo and Duffy were high fiving each other at the end of the game and received pats on the back from the rest of the team and massive applause from our fantastic away fans.

But that's in a world, long, long ago, when we had character, fight and belief in whoever pulled on the Royal Blue jersey.

BATE Borisov. We lost 1-0 actually... Though he did come on early against AEK too as mentioned above.

Heitinga was very good with Duffy doing the things you mentioned actually when he played a few games the next season.

It was against AEK Athens. Distin started the game but went off early and on Duffy came on for his debut. Coleman also played at right back just weeks after his mauling playing left back at Benfica. Hibbert was limited for sure not attacking enough to be a modern day full back not tall enough to be a centre back a d not good enough on the ball to be a midfielder. However what he lacked he made up for in effort and commitment. Would I want him anywhere near a team challenging for top 4? No but you certainly wouldn't mind him in the squad.

not like Barcelona were after him or he was fending off interest from Inter Milan, I mean where was he going to go? Everton was dreamland stuff for him

I actually heard that due to the amount of calls from clubs wanting to sign him they had to get a special phone just to deal with Hibbo enquiries that they kept in a refrigerated room as it used to glow red hot.

...that or it could have been like that carlsberg complaint advert. I keep hearing differing stories.

In recent times probably Sandro Ramirez. Refuses to leave because of his love of the blues. Also gets a Delta taxi to Goodison to feel like one of the fans!

Had to be Schneiderlin, giving up a chance to play for a TOP team in Europe to sign for us, nd sitting on the bench not complaining about lack of game time just epitomize how a professional should be in the modern game that lacks loyalty.

The epitome of modern day Everton. A disgrace.
